Sallie's POV
"Just because we let you come back doesn't mean you can mess with Jill. You're nothing compared to her, honestly," Webster shot back, his expression guarded and threatening.
Kevin chimed in, "We only brought you back hoping you'd quit stirring up drama. That doesn't mean we're cool with what you pulled. If anything like today's mess hits the company again, we're cutting you loose."
I pressed my lips together. *It always comes back to the company,* I thought. But their united front supporting Jill didn't faze me anymore.
"When did I ever beg to come back?" I said. "Let's face it—I was never really a Noah. No need to act like you're throwing me a bone."
Webster scoffed, clearly not buying my act. "Cut the 'I don't care' bullshit. You're probably thrilled inside. Think we're stupid enough to fall for this reverse psychology?"
His look was pure contempt. "If you really didn't give a damn, you wouldn't have pulled that kidnapping stunt."
