A middle-aged old woman with a big belly was at the counter as she was scanning the items that we had brought, but her gaze kept lingering on me and Alina.
After spending almost half an hour, we came outside enduring lots of different gazes—well, at least I did, as Alina was basking in them—and were at the counter.
"Were you the two who caused the commotion at the photo booth earlier?"
And after holding back for a moment, she finally asked.
That was embarrassing, but...
"Yes, we did."
I turned to Alina, who was smiling from ear to ear with pride.
She was as strange as ever. What was she so proud of?
The lady at the counter chuckled at her shamelessness and studied both of us as she kept her hand busy.
"You two are adorable."
I was definitely red from embarrassment, whereas Alina wasn't embarrassed one bit. So for her we appeared as quite a pair of couples.
"Yes, we are."
"Stop it."
