Synopsis
When humanity’s ambition to explore the stars went too far, a single mistake shattered the balance of the world. An experiment meant to connect with distant life instead tore open reality itself — unleashing catastrophic “Veils” that burned continents and reshaped the Earth. From the ashes, new powers and secret orders rose to rule what remained of civilization. Amid this chaos, Kayo, a boy who lost everything to the Veils, awakens with a mysterious energy bound to his soul — the same power that caused humanity’s downfall. As he searches for the truth behind his father’s disappearance, Kayo becomes entangled in the hidden war between science, power, and something far older than mankind.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Is This Where It All Started?

Setting: Year 2025 Location: Supercontinent (All 7 continents combined, divided only by water bodies). This supercontinent has one major radio channel, space station, space research center, and weapons station. Each of these "big daddies" has smaller branches spread around.

(Part 1)

It all started in March 2025, when Earthians increased their exploration of outer space, sending out radio waves at various frequencies while expanding physical expeditions beyond Earth's orbit.

One day, testing new frequency combinations, Earthians transmitted a unique sequence of radio waves into space. Those waves traveled deep into the void… then something happened that was totally unexpected. They returned. Reflected back on the exact same path.

A few days later, strange waves came from the other side. Radio Core tried to decipher them, and with much effort, they finally unpacked the transmission. What they heard wasn't words, but rather growling and breaking noises that were distorted and unclear, yet undeniably unnatural.

These transmissions between both sides went on for four days.

Then, on the sixth day, something remarkable — and haunting — took place.

Star-shaped meteors, or maybe actual stars, appeared in Earth's atmosphere. They didn't fall but hovered, perilously close to the surface. The name given to the phenomenon was "Veils."

The veils continued to appear for four days, then suddenly stopped for three.

A veil twice as large as the others appeared again on the fourth day after that pause.

Radio Core

"Sir! It's the same type of radio waves we received earlier," an agent reported.

A commanding voice echoed back, "Notify the branches of Space Research and Space Station. Send the message to all cores."

The agent grabbed the walkie-talkie, adjusted the frequency, and announced,

"All cores, alert! Veil activity detected again. Be prepared — and do not let this leak out. Over until new update!"

The Space Research Core and Space Station reacted in near real time:

"All cores, nothing on the tracker. No visual. No trail either. Over and out."

Suddenly, a deafening blast ripped through the atmosphere.

A huge veil had pierced the ozone layer, creating a hole of 238,254 km² that bounced back into space.

A 13-year-old boy with silver hair and slitted eyes watched it all from the ground, his little brother clinging to his hand and shaking.

"Bhai… lets go. It feels unsafe."

Space Core

"Sir, the ozone layer is still badly damaged-what do we do?" asked an agent.

Another officer spoke up, "Contact Ground Mesh Core. Evacuate the Black Norse, Indanica, and Closmen areas. Also, raise the temporary Calm Shield. It will reduce sunlight and serve as a short-term ozone layer."

On the Ground:

Indanica: And then, people started worshiping the sun, believing this is the judgment by God. Soon, they suffered severe burns, with some of them turning to ash under the intense radiation.

Black Norse: The damage was minimal, yet still the people desperately prayed to the Sun God for mercy.

Closmen: The most heavily exposed region. The energy of radiation vaporized whole buildings in a matter of seconds. The greater part of the population died at once; only a few persons survived, badly injured.

Out of every three people, one turned to literal ash; the rest were on their way.

A few thousand survivors were rescued and taken to hospitals. Only about 32,000 survived from a combined regional population of 309,992,638.

The Calm Shield was finally turned on, and the Cores started the repair work and provided humanitarian aid.

The Cores announced in a press conference:

"We will continue research and find a permanent way to restore the ozone layer."

The meeting dismissed. Everyone went back to their stations.

Two weeks later, another veil appeared — much larger, speedier, and stronger.

It was like a tear in space itself.

It hit the Andosind region. In an instant, all the surroundings disintegrated into ash. The people completely vanished; nothing remained.

A woman shouted,

"Kayo! Come down, we're going to the safe zone!"

The same silver-haired boy, Kayo, dashed inside, grabbed a small blue stone, and rushed back to his mother. She patted his head, holding both sons' hands as they hurried toward safety with a small pack of supplies.

But they never made it.

It caught up with their city, the shockwave swallowing everything.

Kayo and all of his family died — Kayo still clutching the blue stone.

Two days later, the Cores issued a public statement:

"Dear Earthians, these veils are not new to us. Some twenty years ago, similar phenomena occurred. This time, we promise to find answers — and solutions."

A reporter asked, "How many people have died in total?"

The somber-faced spokesman replied,

"We've lost about two billion lives. We'll have to research this event for three years. These veils aren't ordinary. Their energy level is far beyond our understanding. That's all for today's meeting. Thank you."

Three Years Later

People began protesting. Most demanded the Cores be shut down. But slowly, life began returning to a fragile normal.

Inside the high-tech hospital, scientists examined preserved bodies of those who died in veil impacts. Only corpses with at least 42.2% intact of their body or organs were kept for study — advanced tech made long-term preservation possible.

Dr. Olympus, the leading scientist, approached one of the bodies — that of Kayo. He felt a strange, pulsating energy around it. In Kayo's hand, something invisible glowed faintly-a blue aura.

"Who examined these bodies before me?" Olympus asked.

"I don't know, sir. I'm new," his assistant replied.

Dr. Olympus carefully tried removing the object from Kayo's hand.

CRACK.

The stone shattered.

BOOM!

It was a blinding blue blast that engulfed the whole lab.

All went black.

Inside Kayo's body. something moved.

Kayo's body jerked upright like a reactivated machine — then collapsed again.

Inside, however, his consciousness awoke.

Slowly, he got on his feet and staggered in pain. His skull seemed to split.

A stabbing, needle-like pain filled his head — then came the feeling of raw salt in opened wounds, followed by boiling lava pouring through them.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!"

"Huhhhhhhh!"

He screamed without stopping.

A figure stood before him, a spirit half-shrouded in darkness.

"Who are you? Where am I? Where's my family?!" Kayo shouted.

The spirit smirked.

"You and your family are dead."

It laughed cruelly. "I am nothing. but better than you."

Outside, all hell was breaking loose.

The Ground Control Core units arrived, rescuing survivors from the debris. Sirens started wailing, ambulances flooded the streets, and firefighters fought against spreading flames.

In the midst of it, a man made a secure call.

"Code 120081 — this is an emergency. Mobilize Special Force."

Inside Kayo's Mind

"That's impossible!" Kayo shouted. "My family can't be dead! Why are you here?"

The voice of the spirit echoed.

"You died, too. Only your soul lives — thanks to that stone. And I.

It grinned. "I am that stone."

Kayo didn't cry. His emotions had already shattered.

The spirit warned him to turn back, but Kayo stood his ground.

It attacked him, chaining him in a burning heat, replaying in his mind every painful memory of his father's death, the veil being destroyed, and the last moments of his family. "Why are you doing this to me?!" Kayo cried. "Because I'm nothing… just a better version of you," said the spirit. "I'm making you better." Kayo writhed in agony as the spirit laughed. Then, without thinking, Kayo raised his hand in a desperate motion-a gesture to stop. K-BOOM! The spirit exploded into blue liquid that splashed across Kayo's face, its blood. The lab outside erupted again in smoke. The remains of the spirit poured out of Kayo's body. And then - silence.
