Evelyn's breath came a little uneven as she stayed pressed against the headboard, her fingers curling into the sheets.
The air between them felt charged, thick with things left unsaid. She lifted her gaze cautiously, meeting Ivan's first, then Kian's.
"You guys are enjoying this a little too much," she said, trying to sound steady, though the faint smile tugging at her lips betrayed her.
Ivan tilted his head, amusement dancing in his eyes. "Well yeah," he admitted easily. "But you don't look like you hate it."
Kian, calmer but no less intense, leaned back slightly, giving her space without truly stepping away.
"We have no intention of cornering you," he said, his voice lower, more grounded. "We just… missed you being here, with us."
That made something soften in Evelyn's expression. The teasing edge faded, replaced by something more sincere. She let her legs relax a little, no longer drawn so tightly to her chest.
