I just remembered the relentless, heavy weight of Cassian over me, the agonizing stretch of him inside my hole, and then… nothing. Just a black, dreamless drop into absolute exhaustion after I chickened out.
I pulled the thick duvet up to my chin, staring up at the grand ceiling of Cassian's bedroom.
The morning sunlight was streaming through the tall sheer curtains, throwing bright golden panels across the dark wood floor.
Then I heard it. The soft, rhythmic sound of running water dying down, followed by a door sliding open.
