Caleb woke up, unhappy. It was they New Year's and his birthday. His birthday wasn't something he was happy about, it was when he was brought to the orphanage. Grace Milivene Orphanage. It wasn't a rich orphanage, but they weren't poor. Not exactly.
Caleb got ready, wearing a thin shirt and sweatpants. He put on some old black socks and worn out white sneakers that were stained with ketchup, dirt, mustard, and more. Today, many people would come to Grace Orphanage since it was New Year's, however, they only adopted the younger ones.
Last year, only three young boys and five young girls, none older than 15 years old. Caleb left his room and went to eat breakfast. After eating bread with butter and one sausage, wanting to save food for the other children. He played with the younger children just for about 5 minutes.
Now, he was outside his school, not wanting to enter since there would be rich brothers coming to the school. They were filthy rich. Caleb hated rich people because all the ones he encountered, acted like they owned the world.
Caleb's day was normal and it was finally time to leave. However, everyone was still waiting and Caleb forgot, the brothers would be coming today, right after school ended. Caleb joined his one friend, Valentino, who he called Vale. He wasn't excited but Vale was.
"Vale, can't you just record it and send it to me? I have things to do." Caleb murmured grumpily at Vale. Caleb was known for his fists since he talked with them, but with Vale, he was like an obedient puppy. Caleb has never raised his voice at Vale, and wasn't about to start.
Vale's brow furrowed, obviously displeased by Caleb's negative aura. "No, because then you won't even watch the video. Sit if you want, but you're staying. Also, Maddie should be here soon."
Caleb was even more frustrated when Vale brought up Maddie. Maddie was Vale's girlfriend, and she obviously hated Caleb since day 1, Caleb returned her feelings, just a bit more passionately which made him almost punch her and break her nose.
Luckily, Vale was there that day, and ever since, they had been enemies, only thing in common is that they liked Vale way too much to ruin their relationship with him. Vale technically held everything together, like a bridge carrying soldiers fighting on itself.
Maddie arrived and just a few minutes after her arrival, the brothers came. While they were halfway in the hallway, almost where Vale and the other two were, bickering, a man went crashing to the ground. That man had touched Maddie's thigh, and even though Caleb didn't like her, he wasn't about to see her get assaulted in her short dress.
The man was on the ground, his face was covered in fear. The brothers stopped and looked. They saw the man, and the Caleb. Caleb's chest was heaving, his fist was red but Caleb ignored it. He stepped towards the man menacingly, drawing unwanted attention that Caleb didn't like.
"I may not like that woman, but if I EVER see you putting your hands on her, or anybody else like that, you will NOT see the last of me, bastard!"
Caleb delivered a final punch, and it broke the man's nose. The crack was loud in the silent hallway, tension through the roof. No one dared to be near Caleb, and he's only proving why right now. Caleb was unpredictable with his outbursts.
The brothers stood in silence as for Caleb looked exactly like their father, even had the same raging attitude. Light brown hair, and piercing amber eyes that seemed to glow gold whenever his emotions were intense, like now.
Caleb also defended women just like their father, with his fists. They day ended but the brothers never forgot Caleb, they discussed and told one of the servants to find out where he lived. As soon as the orphanage popped out, everyone's blood went cold. They had a youngest brother, but the parents didn't want Caleb so the wrote his first name on a note, not his last, and left him on the steps of their good friend Grace's orphanage.
They immediately had a plan to adopt Caleb, since he was also going to be kicked out within a week or two. The next day, they all woke up early, it was a Saturday so there was no school even though Caleb would still be at work.
They drove to Grace Milivene Orphanage lin silence, the only noise being the third and second youngest, Kial and Mike, phones. Those two never got along so after Mike killed Kial, Kial stayed silent but Mike yelled when Kial killed him. Meanwhile the youngest for now until they added Caleb, Asher, also played a game, just a different one than Kial and mike.
They got there after 25 minutes, probably 35. As soon as they entered, they told the orphanage the name of who they wanted to adopt. Caleb, surprisingly wasn't up yet, so Grace gently woke him up. Caleb would NEVER disobey her, just like Vale.
Once he was told the news, he packed his things. Great. As soon as he left his room, all the others were at his door crying, hugging each other, or crying on the inside trying to look like they didn't care. Even so, they all hugged Caleb, he was their big brother after all.
He allowed the kids to go through his room for anything they wanted, and they did excitedly, especially the children since it was like a scavenger hunt to them.
Grace led Caleb to his new family. His expression showed... No expression, he just stood there lazily. As soon as he got in the car with them, he kept a distance. He didn't want to get too close.
After another 30ish minutes, they arrived at the mansion, which was surrounded by gardens, fountains, and just luxury, the mansion was the heart of the whole estate.
When they entered, the oldest, Vixtian, led Caleb to his room. Vixtian was the one that held everyone together, he was the broad businessman. When he opened Caleb's door, it was luxurious.
Caleb instantly fell in love with the room.
