Anna was in the car with her escorts. Commander Raze and Adrien sat next to her at the back seat while she sat in the middle. Two cars each tailed behind, and led the way. She felt very uncomfortable with it all. When they arrived at her place, she looked averse. Security units swarmed the perimeter.
Getting down, Commander Raze and detective Adrein, followed while she walked up the stairs to the main door. She searched for her keys, jammed them in, and as she slammed the door, it didn't shut. She looked down to see a footwear standing between the latch bore and the strike plate. It was Adrein's footwear.
"Miss Anna," Adrein pleaded in so many ways with that name. Back at the organization, she was having an argument with Commander Raze when he later informed her that the security was going to be in her house while she slept, when Adrein came by, and the closest agreement he could propose, of which she wasn't still in full acceptance of, was that only both of them would stay within the house for the night, while the security outside.
She popped her head to stare menacingly at him, while Commander Raze enjoyed the view of the the patrolling area. She left the door, going inside, leaving the two men to let themselves in, while they were welcomed by the words: "Don't touch anything."
After a while, the two men had settled in, she came back down, looking like she had freshened up. It was almost eight, when a slight commotion was heard outside.
Anna looked at Commander Raze as he picked up his ringing phone.
"Commander, there is young man with a bouquet of flowers claiming his knows Miss Anna."
Commander Raze gazed at Anna, while he listened to the young man keep insisting, before he cut the call.
"You're boyfriend is here," Raze announced. Adrien just sat put, with no reaction.
"My boyfrie-" she trailed off in doubt before an answer came to mind.
"Oh no-" she sighed as she approached the door.
Raze and Adrien immediately got up, Raze getting the door while she looked annoyed and irritably at him.
Guilty, he explained; "For now, you can't leave without your security being affirmed first, so I'll just go get him for you."
Anna's mouth parted unbelievably while he used the door. Adrien rested on the counter silently.
"How long is this going to on for?"
Adrien just stared back at her, knowing fully well she knew that couldn't be determined at the moment.
"You have a beautiful place."
He replied instead, making her walk away unbearably.
It took a while before the door finally eased her when it opened. Henry looked like he had just gone through the wild, and was the last survivor of his pack. His flowers had been ruined because the security, in fulfilling their protocol, searched the bouquet for any hidden weapon or threat to their protected package. He also looked like his was searched all over, even his hair was a mess. Commander Raze shut the door, and returned back to his seat. His eyes met with Adrien who sized him up, that he sized himself unconsciously.
"Henry--" she called sadly, as she approached him.
His hands were still ajar with the bouquet in his left hand, while he examined himself when he heard her voice. Subconsciously, he stretched out the flowers in a smile but her pitiful look reminded him otherwise.
"What are you doing here?"
"I came to give you-- these," he looked disappointed at how they ruined the flowers he brought for her. She looked at Adrien who was looking at them, forcing him to walk away to the couch, and then at commander Raze, who was busying himself on his phone though she was certain his attention was more in the room.
She breathed in, closing her eyes to remain calm before she looked back at him.
She took the flowers uninterestedly, and gave a fake smile with the words; "Thanks."
Henry nodded understanding her, and turned around to leave.
"Nope. You can't leave."
Henry looked baffled, wondering if the man in the suit was referring to him, and Anna had just had about enough of his protocol.
"Sorry?"
"You are connected to our protected individual and appear to have a close relationship with her, which constitutes a threat to her safety if you leave these premises, because you could be used as bait by parties hostile to our operation within the next 72 hours. In short, you will be required to remain here overnight, Mr. Henry."
"What? No!" Anna retorted."I'm sorry, Miss Anna. It's against my protocol to do otherwise."
Anna wasn't sure how else to deal with the situation, but that night was more than hell for her privacy.
The night was late, and Anna, although upset, informed them all in the Livingroom that she was going to bed. The men were all wide awake. She doubted she was going to be able to sleep but she felt obligated to inform them because it was the sole reason they were there right? To protect her while she slept soundly, except Henry whom she just felt bad for. Yet, at the back of her mind, she did feel uneasy about what Melody had said, but she didn't want to overthink matter.
"And please, COMMANDER RAZE, tell your men to keep the noise down, if you want me to sleep."
He nodded, as they all watched her go inside her room.
The night grew silent, outside and inside. Henry had fallen asleep while detective Adrien and Commander Raze , patrolled around the house; Adrien, to keep himself awake. It was three in the morning, when they both returned back to the living room to see Henry fast asleep.
"Is it really seventy-two hours we're protecting her for?" Adrien asked Raze while he picked up and examined a decorative item on the table.
"Hopefully, it doesn't have to exceed that."
Just then, an unfamiliar chaotic sound came from her room door. They both looked at each other, to affirm if they both heard right.
Commander Raze wasted no time in approaching the door, with Adrien close behind him.
"Miss Anna?" He called once, and after two seconds of silence, he barged in, and a black foggy mist swallowed them both in, dissolving them into streaks of it's light before the door slammed shut, and Henry remained fast asleep, unaware of what had just happened.
