Annabelle was a bit disoriented inwardly by the response, especially by Melody's confidence.
"And how do you know this?" She still managed to ask.
Melody looked triggered, by a thought, before she responded.
"I-I see things." Her eyes teared up as she replied, but she withheld them.
"So you are psychic." Commander Raze muttered.
Melody chuckled. "I see everything-- sometimes."
"Why sometimes?"
Her voice shook as she spoke; "It can be devastating to see the truth of our world. So I choose not to see when it's getting overwhelming."
"How do you see?"
"I just do. It comes when I need a sense of direction, or randomly. It's like imagining in a story in your head, with the difference of it being real."
"Can you imagine things to reality?"
"No, I see things that are the reality of our world."
Annabelle jotted down some things into her note.
"How did your visions all start?"
Melody's red eyes blinked the tears away.
"The same yours will tonight."
Everyone looked at Annabelle, before the test subject started having a kind of panic attack, wiggling on her restricted chair. A medically trained security team ran into the interrogation room where the test subject was, to try and help her. But by the time they got to her, she was already gone. One of the men touched her neck for a pulse; nothing. Their abrupt stopping of their emmergency movemnents to try and help the subject, sent the message that Melody was no more.
Annabbelle, watching the whole scenary, picked up her bag and left the room, Commander Raze chased after her while Adrien just kept on looking at Melody's body like the investigator he was.
"Wait--wait, miss Anna," he called as he grabbed unto her arm.
"I believe I have completed my job her with this operation," she snapped calmly,"... so please, let me go home."
"I'm sorry, I can't let you go home alone, miss Anna."
"What do you mean by that?"
Raze sighed letting go.
"Miss Anna, the subject's last words prove to be a threat to your safety. This means that wherever you are going to be tonight, this operation cannot afford to have you alone — at least for now, until we are certain you'll be safe."
"I will have a security team head over to secure your home before you get there. And they will also be your escort home, for now."
Anna looked devastated to the bone. She was seeing Melody's life replay all over again, but this time as her own.
