Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Taste My Plasma Railgun!

"Rooaaarrrr—!!"

The Abomination, having suffered heavy damage, let out a painful, ear-splitting scream!

Despite the fact that it had been injected with a replicated Super Soldier Serum and fused with a small amount of Hulk blood—packed with both science and ruthlessness—it was, in essence, the crystallization of cutting-edge biotechnology.

Yet, it was still being mercilessly beaten by the BT piloted by Du Mu!

How could the Abomination possibly accept this!?

"Damn it!!"

Fierce light flashed in the Abomination's eyes. It stretched out its uninjured right hand and gripped the mechanical arm of the BT that held the Titan broadsword.

Ignoring the sharp pain coming from its severed left wrist, the Abomination swung its left arm and pounded the BT's chassis relentlessly, like a pile driver!

Under the Abomination's desperate, furious assault, the invisible shield covering the BT's body violently fluctuated, its energy visibly depleting at a rapid rate.

Du Mu, inside the cockpit, showed no panic. He quickly opened the missile pods on both of the BT's shoulders.

Immediately, several micro-missiles spat out scorching tail flames and delivered a zero-range, face-to-face bombardment to the Abomination!

Boom—!!

A deafening explosion suddenly erupted!

The powerful shockwave detonated between the two, instantly sending the Abomination flying away!

Protected by the energy shield, the BT suffered no damage. After tumbling two and a half times in the air, it landed steadily on the ground.

Immediately afterward, the weapon in the BT's hand switched to a sniper cannon with a long, slender barrel.

Du Mu raised the gun, locking onto the Abomination, which was struggling to get back on its feet. The energy core in the center of the cannon's body hummed and began charging, emitting a dangerous orange-red glow.

"Taste My Plasma Railgun!"

Boom—!!

A blinding, orange-red beam of light burst forth, shooting straight toward the Abomination with the force of thunder!

The Abomination had no time to make any evasive maneuvers as its massive body was instantly pierced by the terrifying beam!

It lowered its head in disbelief.

Right in the center of its chest was a huge, scorched hole!

The flesh and blood around the edge of the penetration point sizzled under the high temperature of the plasma, and the internal organs and bones inside were completely carbonized!

"How could this..."

The Abomination let out one last, unwilling roar.

Immediately after, its eyes slowly lost focus, and its enormous body crashed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

The next moment, the system prompt sounded in Du Mu's mind.

[You have successfully defeated BOSS 'Abomination' Emil Blonsky!]

[Commencing Damage Reward Settlement...]

[Rewards are as follows: 15,000 Experience Points, 7 Free Attribute Points, Skill: 'Fiery Golden Eyes,' Equipment: 'Li's Motherfing Flying Dagger,' Item: 'Cat's Memory,' Item: 'Senju Bean']*

[Skill: Fiery Golden Eyes (Can see through all falsehoods or disguises and strike directly at the true essence, including beauty filters and Eastern cosmetic sorcery. You never have to worry about being catfished again.)]

[Equipment: Li's Motherfing Flying Dagger (Ranked first on the weapon chart, never misses its mark.)]*

[Item: Cat's Memory (Can force a person to view a cat's memory. The imagery is too terrifying, and the viewer may have unpredictable reactions. Please use with caution.)]

[Item: Senju Bean (Instantly restores stamina and internal/external injuries, but is ineffective against disease. One bean can ward off hunger for ten days.)]

Compared to the previous two BOSS battles, this reward was much more generous.

Du Mu guessed it must be related to the BOSS's strength.

He skillfully allocated the Free Attribute Points to his three main attributes, his strength growing once again.

After killing the Abomination, Du Mu ignored General Ross and his distant troops, piloting the BT to quickly leave the scene.

The next day, the major battle that had erupted in Harlem the previous night quickly topped the headlines of major media outlets.

Aside from the Daily Bugle, which, as usual, only reported slander about Spider-Man, every other newspaper focused entirely on the battle between Du Mu's BT and the Abomination.

Many people believed the BT was a new type of armor created by Tony Stark.

However, the news was quickly and clearly denied by Stark Industries' public relations department.

This denial only made people more curious about the BT's origin, with everyone speculating about the identity of the mysterious mech's pilot.

At the same time, large-scale protests and demonstrations erupted on the streets.

Most of the demonstrators were Harlem residents or citizens who happened to be in Harlem the previous night.

All these people had one thing in common: their houses and cars had been damaged in the battle.

It's worth noting that many people had purchased their homes and vehicles with loans.

After years, or even decades, of hard work paying off a mortgage, their assets were wiped out overnight!

Not only were their homes and cars gone, but they still had to continue repaying the massive loans!

Who could possibly endure that?

And thanks to the secret manipulation of a certain Black-Hearted Baldy, all the victims learned that the monster that had rampaged through Harlem that night was a soldier under General Ross.

Upon learning the truth, the furious public immediately turned their anger toward General Ross, demanding that the military compensate them for their losses.

General Ross was instantly plunged into a public relations nightmare, leaving him with no time to worry about his daughter's runaway boyfriend, Bruce (Banner).

Meanwhile, Du Mu received a system notification.

[Quest 'Bruce Banner Protection Battle' settlement complete!]

[Reward Received: 1,500 Experience Points, 30 S.H.I.E.L.D. Reputation, Equipment: 'Professor Yang's Ring,' Item: 'Hair Growth Agent']

[Equipment: Professor Yang's Ring (Can instantly release an ultra-high current)]

[Item: Hair Growth Agent (Upon use, you can obtain a head of lustrous, black hair. A programmer's blessing.)]

It seemed Bruce had successfully escaped the military's pursuit.

He wondered where Bruce was now—had he managed to escape the United States?

"Agent Du Mu!"

Du Mu's wandering thoughts were suddenly interrupted.

Nick Fury looked at him, his face dark, knowing the guy hadn't been listening. He said, "You caused quite a commotion last night. Do you know how many people are looking for you right now?"

Du Mu asked, confused, "Why are they looking for me?"

"Of course, it's because of that big toy of yours. Especially the military—they've already started contacting Tony Stark, intending to have him build a similar mech, but Tony Stark refused."

Nick Fury knew that the mech was Du Mu's doing.

The guy always managed to pull out incredibly strange things, things Fury had never even heard of.

Fury had previously tested the items Du Mu provided, only to find he couldn't analyze their components. It was as if these things didn't exist in this world at all.

Even stranger, these items seemed to be automatically bound to Du Mu. Without his permission, even if others got their hands on them, they would instantly disappear and return to Du Mu.

As for threatening Du Mu to hand over these items?

Nick Fury had never even considered it.

Don't let Du Mu's obedience to his missions fool you. Fury knew perfectly well how uncontrollable this guy was!

If someone genuinely dared to provoke the guy, he would absolutely not hesitate to blast that person's head off, regardless of their status or position. It simply wasn't a factor in his decision-making.

In Du Mu's own words: I am a dignified Fourth Great Disaster. Who are you, a mere NPC, to provoke me?! Are you looking for death or something?!

Nick Fury understood this sentiment deeply.

The first time they met, Du Mu had openly and shamelessly calculated how he could kill Fury, saying he wanted to try and see if he could loot any equipment.

In that moment, Nick Fury almost thought the guy was a Hydra remnant and had his hand on his gun.

Looking back now, Fury only felt a surge of relief.

Thankfully, he didn't actually draw his gun then, or S.H.I.E.L.D. would have been holding a memorial service the next day.
