Chapter 81 - GWPF Chapter 83: Planting the Divine Tree

At the entrance of Ichiraku Ramen, passersby curiously poked their heads in.

In front of the small ramen shop, two utterly despondent figures sat slumped, their expressions quite tragic.

One looked like his father had died, the other like his best friend had died.

Momoshiki and the others were startled when they came out after eating ramen.

"Huh? What are you two doing here?"

Naruto looked at the two with a bewildered expression.

"I left some ramen for you. I was just about to come find you."

"No thanks." Boruto shook his head, irritably running a hand through his hair.

"We don't have an appetite right now. How about you eat it for us?"

"Really?!" Naruto's eyes lit up. He rubbed his hands excitedly, "Then I won't be shy."

With that, Naruto darted back into the ramen shop, and with a vacuum-like inhale, devoured both their bowls of ramen in 30 seconds.

Watching Naruto eat like a vacuum cleaner, Sasuke closed his eyes, unable to bear the sight.

Great. Now, with his eyes closed, all he saw was Konoha's future.

"Hey, hey, hey, what's with you two looking so desperate? You should be optimistic about everything. There's no difficulty that can't be overcome."

Jiraiya, full from eating, leaned against the wall with his hands behind his head, enjoying himself contentedly while advising the two to lighten up.

No difficulty that can't be overcome...

Sasuke rubbed his forehead in despair.

The Otsutsuki ganging up on them was already beyond what "difficulty" could describe. How were they supposed to get through this?

Just him and this hothead Boruto?

Sasuke had no confidence.

But at least one thing was confirmed: Momoshiki hadn't done anything to harm the Ninja World or Konoha yet, but that was only yet.

What he would do later was unpredictable. He was a complete ticking time bomb.

Furina, holding the hands of the two little ones, was saying something. Naruto, meanwhile, was inviting Kaguya to stay at his house.

Momoshiki glanced at the two, understanding what they were worried about, and sneered contemptuously.

"I say, you two don't have to be so pessimistic. In your memories, isn't the future still normal?"

Boruto didn't speak, just continued to sit in a daze, but Sasuke indeed froze for a moment.

Oh, right. Since the past had already changed, why did they still have memories of a normal past? Shouldn't all of these have changed?

Could it be that after they traveled through time, they were no longer subject to time's control?

"This is time's self-repair mechanism. When you traveled to the past, the past was indeed already changed. To prevent the predetermined future from collapsing, time will evolve the past into a parallel universe."

Momoshiki approached the two, speaking softly. The surroundings were noisy, and others could barely hear him. Only Sasuke and Boruto could hear clearly.

"Are you saying our time travel caused the past timeline to evolve into a parallel universe?"

Sasuke looked at Momoshiki with a strange expression.

This explanation, when thought about carefully, was indeed quite reasonable. But if the future wouldn't be changed, then what was Momoshiki doing here?

He couldn't possibly just be here for fun, could he?

"That's right. That's all I can tell you. You can figure out the rest yourselves."

Momoshiki patted their shoulders, then nonchalantly stood up, directly performing an entry into the Kamui Dimension on the spot.

Sasuke: "???"

Did something very familiar just appear?

In the Kamui Dimension.

Kinshiki was only somewhat curious about the Ten-Tails. Seeing that its normal functions were similar to the Divine Tree, only its appearance was different, he lost much interest and instead started reading novels.

Furina said these were Lord Momoshiki's favorites.

Hiss~

What profound meaning did Lord Momoshiki find in reading these...?

Toneri, on the other hand, was having a great time with the Ten-Tails. The Ten-Tails was also quite fond of him, constantly rubbing against his legs.

Rather than fondness, it was more like the Ten-Tails could have fun with anyone, provided they were good to its master.

Kinshiki's massive body squatted on the ground, holding a fingernail-sized novel in his hand, his dark expression filled with curious scrutiny.

He couldn't understand the words, nor the illustrations. He just felt it was very profound.

As he was researching, Kinshiki suddenly sensed something. He quickly put down the novel and stood up. Toneri also pushed the Ten-Tails aside.

"Lord Momoshiki!" The two said in unison.

Momoshiki waved his hand indifferently, and with a leap, jumped onto Kinshiki's shoulder.

Outside, Furina was saying some words of concern to the two little ones. She suddenly remembered a familiar voice in her heart.

[I didn't expect to play all day and completely forget about the time.]

Momoshiki sighed helplessly.

The first thing he did after arriving in the Ninja World was to play wildly, which successfully led to wasting an important day.

"You remember that too!"

Furina complained helplessly in her heart.

She had been out for so long. Focalors must be getting extremely anxious waiting at home. She really wanted to go back quickly.

[Let's go. Let's plant the Divine Tree first.]

"Hmm."

Noticing Furina's change in expression, and remembering she had said she could talk to Momoshiki mentally, Haku asked in confusion:

"Is there something that needs to be done?"

"That's right. You two go back into the space first. Momoshiki and the others are all there."

"Hmm." The two little ones nodded obediently, then Furina sucked them into the Kamui Dimension with a "storm inhale."

After everything was ready, Furina looked at Kaguya, but saw her looking reluctant to leave Naruto. She could only shrug helplessly.

Naruto, though carefree and seemingly optimistic, clearly had loneliness in his eyes. It was good that someone was with him.

She would just leave Kaguya here for now. Anyway, she wasn't not coming back. She would take her away later.

Thinking this, Furina directly took off from the ground, leaving the area. The sudden scene also startled Boruto and Sasuke.

The two looked up in disbelief for a while.

"That Momoshiki guy... just left like that?" Boruto found it hard to believe.

The sky gave no response, as if he had truly left.

"Although I don't know what happened, but..."

The two simultaneously looked at Kaguya, whose face was filled with innocence. A feeling of relief surged in their hearts.

Fortunately, only a 20-year-old Kaguya remained.

Sasuke thought this in his heart. Boruto, on the other hand, simply thought this Otsutsuki was easy to bully. After all, no matter what, she was Mr. Sasuke's former defeated opponent, though she was defeated by him and Dad, plus many others.

But hothead Boruto didn't think he was inferior.

...

In the universe at this time, Furina was flying aimlessly. Momoshiki inside her was scrutinizing which planet was the most fertile.

Although they passed several, he always felt there were bigger ones, so none were chosen as targets.

After flying for a while, which made Furina a bit bored, Momoshiki finally saw a planet that was solid and currently the largest.

On the surface, it didn't even seem to have an atmosphere. It was a barren planet, perfect for planting the Divine Tree.

Possessing Furina, Momoshiki performed a familiar landing elbow drop on this planet.

He carefully felt the environment of this planet.

He couldn't say it was bad, only that it was even harsher than the "Happy Planet" they encountered before.

It wasn't just simple corrosion; it was also accompanied by strong toxins. If an ordinary creature were here, it would probably rot both externally and internally in minutes.

But these clearly meant nothing to Furina. She could directly withstand it with her body, not to mention the protection of chakra.

For the Ten-Tails, it was even less of a concern.

"It feels so harsh here," Furina commented, frowning, a little unaccustomed.

"It's fine. The Ten-Tails can grow here."

Momoshiki shrugged indifferently.

A harsh environment was good. The harsher it was, the more energy it could absorb, and the more fertile this planet would be.

"Okay, I'll listen to you."

Furina reluctantly compromised, and released the Ten-Tails using Kamui.

As soon as the Ten-Tails landed, it eagerly sensed the environment of this planet.

It opened its mouth and took a deep breath, filled with chemical odors.

All sorts of strange substances or energies continuously reacted within its body, even accompanied by crackling corrosion. It was simply delicious!

"No way?! The Ten-Tails actually likes this kind of environment!"

Seeing the Ten-Tails frolicking here like a sheep in a meadow, Furina was a little dumbfounded.

"Although the Ten-Tails lives by absorbing life force, it doesn't refuse other energies."

Momoshiki spouted nonsense in a serious manner.

"There are many special substances here, constantly undergoing chemical reactions, producing various energies, which is why this planet is so barren and harsh."

"It's just that these energies are too suitable for the Ten-Tails."

Momoshiki didn't know the exact reason, but the Ten-Tails just liked it.

He would just pretend it had a low-spec version of Takami-Musubi.

"Oh." Furina was half-understanding.

She reached out and waved at the Ten-Tails.

"Hey! Little one, stop playing! You have serious business to do!"

"Hmm?"

The Ten-Tails poked its head out from a dirt mound, blinked, then opened its large mouth full of sharp fangs, and ate its way over like a bulldozer.

"Alright, with your large size, it would take me a long time to plant you. Just drill in yourself and bury yourself."

"Mmm mmm!"

The Ten-Tails' expression immediately changed as if it had accepted a glorious mission. First, it stood squarely on all fours, then, like marching, it looked for a suitable auspicious spot.

"This little one is quite obedient."

Furina followed the Ten-Tails with some emotion.

The Ten-Tails sniffed the ground, and before long, it bypassed two small hills and found a spacious area.

The advantage of such a place was that it could occasionally stretch, which greatly pleased the Ten-Tails.

It first bounced twice in place, then leaped high like a fox hunting prey, and then slammed its head into the ground.

With a bang, the Ten-Tails drilled into the ground like a power drill, splashing large amounts of debris, which Furina blocked with chakra.

Soon, a huge tree grew out. Furina, having learned from her first experience, quickly retreated, avoiding the impact.
