Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: If You Don’t Have Courage, Don’t Bother

In the palace of a noble of the Kingdom of Dawn, screams echoed through its halls, mingling with the pleas of servants begging for mercy for their lord.

"Please! Protect our master — take my head instead!"

"No, I won't! I beg you!"

"What is with this girl?! No!!"

The girl answered with feigned politeness, yet her words carried a deadly coldness:

"What a noble man, to defend his master with such courage."

She advanced with steady, confident steps toward the servant, adding with a mocking tone:

"How admirable!"

With every step, her silver aura flowed smoothly around her body, as if it were caressing the shadows throughout the palace.

The moonlight streaming through the large windows revealed her crimson eyes and their silver gleam—cold and piercing like knives. Her gaze alone was enough to instill terror in them and unsettle their weak hearts.

Before their bodies were scattered in the air like minced meat, she whispered:

"But… I will have to kill you all."

Then she continued, calmly, with a wicked smile:

"Securing a luxurious palace matters more to me than wasting time…" She brought her hand to her lips and added, "So, will you kindly take your leave?"

Everything she left behind on the corridor were strange stains covering the walls up to the ceiling—a sight that could make anyone faint or lose their courage.

Silently, she transformed into a hidden wind and vanished onto the palace roof, leaving the night to illuminate her mysterious figure… a girl named Yuki Nakamura, with long gray hair mixed with black reaching her waist, adorned with a hairpin shaped like a bird's feather.

She wore an elegant long dress in white and gray, with black stockings that added to her elegance and mystery.

Yuki gazed at the moon amidst the town lights and said:

"My work here is done; I likely got what I came for."

She tilted her head, touching her cheek with her right hand, and whispered to herself:

"But that Peacock-Tail Guild master… how long will he keep assigning me his requests? How annoying!"
