I walked down the streets of the city as blaring horns of cars and neon lights flashed within my vision.
Another day down. I thought to myself as I scrolled endlessly on my phone, trying to block out the world around me.
Then, lights, smell of rubber and screeching sounds, hit me all at once, but before I could react I was hit by something going incredibly quickly as my body felt like it was breaking apart from the impact, before everything went dark.
In the boundless darkness I resided within I could not move or speak. Just think and see. There was no sound nor any light, just cold and suffocating darkness.
Until, a bright and glorious golden light appeared. Small at first and then it got larger and larger until it must have been the size of a star.
I panicked, thinking I was going to be absorbed or denied this last bit of life I desperately desired. I did not mind the darkness, it may have been cold and lonely but at least I am not dead, well, not completely. I can at least think and be aware.
My anxiety calmed, as soon as the ball of light stopped it's growth, and a soothing voice that was not male nor female, reached me within this soundless place.
Mortal, from earth. You have been chosen to be reborn in a world that is in need of God's.
In need of God's?
Indeed. They have fallen into slumber after a war of unimaginable proportions, the world weeps and it's people cry out for their sleeping gods.
Why would you choose me? And as a god? That sounds ridiculous, I was just a normal human on earth, nothing special.
Mortal, even the mightest of beings in the cosmos started as mere specks in the grand tapestry of creation. Ask yourself why not? Instead of why me?
*Sigh* Okay. It's better than staying in this place, if I have a chance to do something more, something great, instead of being merely a cog in the machine then I will!
That is the spirit! I am sending you to this broken world as a lifeline. You will be reborn as something great, with a little something to help guide you. Make the most of it and become the new Dragon God as soon as possible. The gods will soon awaken, and the path to the divine throne will become more ardius once you have to compete for faith with those self centered fools.

The voice seemed to fade as the ball of light shrunk.

The name seemed to strike acord within my very soul as my whole being seemed to shake and react to the name.
Suddenly, I was yanked into a swirling portal of red and black as my soul made the journey to another world.
One that is in a period of change, one that has had the starting line reset for Godhood and faith.
One where a dragon with an unimaginable history, will once again reign supreme above all gods. And this time he will not fall!
