"I don't trust your friend James Morrison."
Dmitri said it as he stood at the door with his jacket already on, preparing to leave.
Marcus looked up from the files they'd been reviewing. "What?"
"James Morrison, your business partner and closest friend." Dmitri's voice was flat. "I don't trust him."
"Based on what?" Marcus crossed his arms.
"Instinct. Something about him doesn't sit right." Dmitri picked up his bag. "Just be careful around him."
"James has been my friend for ten years. He was there when Catherine died, and he helped me through everything." Marcus's voice was firm. "I trust him completely."
"Your choice." Dmitri looked at Aria. "But watch him around your woman. Men like that always show their true nature eventually."
Before Marcus could respond, Dmitri left, and the door closed behind him with a soft click.
"What the hell was that about?" Marcus asked as he turned to Aria.
