Chapter 2 - SPELL.

CHAPTER TWO.

Jasmine's POV.

I stared at the bottle of peanuts like it was a plague and it was, at least to my health.

"What? Don't you want it?" He asked, throwing me a suspicious glance, and I stiffened.

'Should I say no or...?' I was still wondering when a knock sounded on the door. The Lycan Beast and I turned at once.

"Come in." He said and I tried not to tremble, his voice was that heavy. The door opened, and the maid from earlier entered.

"You have a visitor, my lord." She bowed her head.

"Is it Darius?" The Lycan beast asked and she nodded, raising her head.

"Alright." He replied, turning to take my hand. A shiver ran down my spine, my heart skipping a beat as my eyes widened slightly.

"Make sure to eat it." He placed the jar in my hand before dismissing the maid and departing after her. I stood there, frozen at first.

'Did he just touch me? But why did his hand feel so warm and cold at the same time?' I pondered as I went to sit on the bed, absentmindedly feeling the place he had touched me.

I opened the jar of peanuts and snapped back to reality as the horrible smell hit me. I tried not to cough loudly, so as not to attract attention. I quickly covered the jar back.

What the hell did Tulip see in this abomination?

I placed it on the table and relaxed against the bed. I needed to find a way to contact my father because this was getting out of hand.

I wonder how Tulip was faring over there, was she coping?

I scoffed, knowing it would be easy for her. She had once pretended to be me during the chunin exam that happened back in the witches' realm.

The chunin exam is a competition every 15-year-old witch is eligible to participate in, and we both did, but she got her ass whooped while I emerged as the champion.

Then while I was preparing to receive the trophy, she knocked me out and took it in my place. Thank God, Alex, my friend, found me on time; otherwise, she would have gotten away with it, because she totally had everyone fooled.

While I couldn't even pretend to be her. I tried it once, and it was so damn hard that I got caught right away, which means the only reason why the Lycan beast hadn't figured it out yet was because he knew neither of us personally.

I doubt he had even seen our portraits before, because we were hidden all our lives in the palace and no paintings of us were allowed. Though Tulip mostly snuck out, but in disguise.

I was still racking my head for how I could find a way out when it hit me. I stood up from the bed immediately and began pacing the room, as I fought the urge to bite hard on my nails.

'It was risky but I had no other way.' I thought as I walked over to the huge bell hanging from the ceiling. I knew what it was for, because we had one like it back at home.

I walked and climbed the stool next to it then rang the bell with all my might. It didn't take up to a minute when the door burst open, and a maid I didn't recognize dashed in.

"Mi'lady." She bowed and I faked a smile at her as I went to sit back on the bed.

"I need a dead parrot, mouse powder, and the blood of a coyote," I told her and all colors drained out of her face, the same way mine did when my father told me of this ingredient.

"M-mi-lady." She stammered and I nodded, sensing what she was about to say.

"It must be a Coyote's blood," I warned and her jaw dropped.

"But this is the Lycan's territory, and we can't go further into the werewolf's territory. It would be war." She half-yelled and I shrugged.

"It's what I want," I told her, and she bit her lower lip hard.

"Please," I added and she bowed again before leaving the room.

Coyotes were pets to wolves, so they couldn't be found in the Lycan beast's forest, but it was the Lycan king after all, and from other rumors I have heard, he was a monster who loved to hunt and dared to do even the impossible.

I would be disappointed if the maid couldn't get me what I asked. It was barely 30 minutes after I had asked for the impossible when the maid wheeled in everything.

"What is your name?" I asked with a genuine smile this time as I could finally feel my heart relaxing.

"Jane." She answered and I dismissed her. All I had to do now was wait until midnight, and luckily, the Lycan beast made no further appearances.

When it struck 12, I cut my palm with the fruit knife I saw on a fruit tray and drew a circle with my blood on the floor, then I poured the dead Coyote's blood in the middle and placed the dead parrot on it.

I rubbed the mouse's powder on the Dacra. It was supposed to weaken it a bit enough for me to draw a little power to chant a spell, while the other ingredients were to strengthen me a bit.

No one else knew about this method except Dad, Tulip, the high priestess, and me. It was forbidden for a reason. I sat on the floor, closed my eyes, and blocked every sound out.

I breathed in and out then began chanting. Heavy wind blew around, scattering things around the room, I could hear the sound of them falling as I could also feel my strength draining, the Dacra's hold on me tightening but I dug my nails into my palm, drawing more blood.

Finally, I was able to go into the Zone.

"Father," I whispered and the cold wind from outside blew in.

"Jasmine, why did you summon me? And why this spell?" My father yelled because he knew the consequences but it couldn't be greater than my head on a platter, handed over to him.

"Dad. I was switched. I am in the Lycan beast's territory." I told him immediately. I didn't have much time, just 5 minutes.

"Impossible." His voice trembled and I could imagine the look of panic in his eyes. I couldn't see him, could only hear him.

"But how?" He questioned and I let out a weary sigh.

"I don't know either but what do I do?" I inquired and there was silence for a moment before he finally spoke up.

"Simple. Act like Tulip and give him the heir he craves."
