Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

The red wine glistened as it was poured into the structured glass. With a polite smile, the waitress gracefully poured the wine next into the Tae Han's glass after having served their guest. The Arval Emblem was elegantly displayed on the white sheet of the bottle.

"It's a pleasure to dine with you, Mr. Lee. Your wine looks quite splendid." Chris, Arval's recently appointed European branch director remarked cheerfully. Lee Tae Han smiled at the compliment. His gaze lingered on the wine like a prize. "It's a pleasure of mine to treat you here. I look forward to your cooperation with the expansion of our retail chain within Europe."

"Of course Mr. Lee." Chris replied.

Tae Han raised his glass, "Cheers." He said. Both men clinched their glasses and dined.

Once the evening begun settling in, they called it a day and headed out of the restaurants lounge. Chris respectfully bid him farewell before he was escorted and rode on.

Tae Han's security guards escorted him to the black Mercedes. Quite alert and a little terrified, his assistant, Min Gyu, quickly walked next to him. Once he was settled into the car, they rhythmically followed and drove on.

The evening streets of Seoul glistened. The car steadily drove through the broad three way highway till they arrived at the Lee's residence.

As the gates opened, the three cars, including that with Tae Han present entered through the paved courts. Driving in, they circled next to the fountain and settled at the porch. The driver proceeded to open the door, and he stepped out.

With confident strides, Tae Han walked into the house.Chandeliers lit every corner of the first floor, and the house's caretakers at the reception, politely welcomed him.

A few steps south was Min Gyu, already going through his tablet about to brief him for tomorrow's schedule.

"Min Gyu," Tae Han called, signaling he could proceed. He walked to the kitchen and reached for a glass of water.

"Tomorrow morning, you have a routine briefing with the directors and an appearance to make at the marketing department." Min Guy announced. "and you later have a meeting with the financial manager to discuss sales strategy."

"Was everything sorted out within the legal department?" He asked.

"Yes sir. The legal director handled the situation with Ruyun Enterprise. They agreed to our terms."

Tae Han's wore an unsettling "Inform the legal team I'll need a briefing as early tomorrow morning, after the meeting with the marketing department." He said. Min Gyu could feel the pressure of his heavily packed scheduled. He took in a deep breath as he stood next to him.

"Sir, should I inform the Chairman's office regarding your participation to the fundraising art gala?" Min Gyu laid a attempt. The fundraising gala was quite an official event, but it could be a great opportunity for Tae Han to take a break as it was being jointly planned by the team of executives and project staff.

"Other executives can take care of the event." He replied. "There are more immediate situations I need to deal with."

"But sir, the Vice-Chairman's engagement is quite needed. This will also be a great opportunity to find ways to broaden the art foundation."

Tae Han coldly placed the glass on the counter. "Min Gyu, I'm not looking forward to this event. Don't bring it up again."
