CHAPTER 0.02: THE REAPER SYSTEM

The Reaper System is the invisible structure that governs the existence of every Grim Reaper.

It was not created by humans — it is the will of Death itself, woven into the soul of every Reaper at birth.

When a Reaper is born, their level is set permanently.

No amount of training, devotion, or destruction can change it.

A Level 5 Reaper will remain a Level 5 until death. A Level 0 is born only once in countless generations.

Each level signifies how deeply their soul is intertwined with the Nether Realm — how much of Death's power they can safely contain.

A Reaper's identity is also tied to their Quirk, the unique manifestation of their soul's connection to Death.

No two Quirks are the same, and each mirrors the nature of its bearer — rage, grief, hope, emptiness — all become fuel for their power.

For this reason, Reapers often say:

"To know one's Quirk is to know one's soul."

LEVELS OF REAPERS

Level 5 – Initiate

The weakest class. Often born without a Quirk, or with one that cannot sustain itself. Used in low-risk soul retrieval or basic purification work. Many never graduate the Academy.

Level 4 – Warden

Capable of controlling limited amounts of spiritual energy. They guard small sectors or assist in ritual containment. Most Reapers in training fall under this class.

Level 3 – Sentinel

Skilled combatants and exorcists who form the backbone of Reaper society. Their Quirks are refined and stable. Often found in mid-tier agencies or urban assignments.

Level 2 – Enforcer

Elite field Reapers. Tasked with executing rogue Reapers, capturing forbidden souls, and handling Class-A spectral events. They embody discipline and raw efficiency.

Level 1 – Sovereign

The highest known rank achievable by mortals. Possess immense power, capable of bending the spiritual and physical simultaneously. Their presence alone distorts reality. Fewer than a hundred exist worldwide.

Level 0 – Abyssal(Unclassified)

Rare beings born from the pure essence of Death. Their existence defies all known logic. Some call them "Children of the Absolute." Even the Reaper Council fears them.
