Ruby's POV
My breath caught in my throat. I had never felt this level of terror around him before.
Justin drew a pistol from his jacket and aimed it directly at Elias. "What if I refuse?"
A dark chuckle escaped Elias's lips, the sound sending ice through my veins. He showed no fear whatsoever. The weapon pointed at him seemed to entertain rather than intimidate him.
"That would be an incredibly foolish decision," he said, his tone deceptively gentle yet laced with menace.
"Why do you even want her back?" Justin's voice cracked with rage. "You don't care about her at all! Where were you when your sister destroyed her reputation? When everything she built crumbled to pieces? Do you know how many nights she cried because of what you put her through?"
"That's not your concern," Elias's words cut like a blade.
"It became my concern when I picked up the pieces you left behind. I was there when you weren't. If you had any decency left, you would walk away."
