Ruby's POV
My heart hammered against my ribs.
Naturally, they were lying.
Why would they actually want to heal me? Their real goal was to destroy me piece by piece, from within.
"What exactly is in that bottle? Some kind of poison?" I demanded.
"Surprisingly, no," Jimmy replied grimly. "It's a genuine supplement. An extremely powerful one, actually."
I went rigid. A supplement? When had Michael ever shown such kindness?
"You still haven't figured it out, have you?" Jimmy's voice carried weight. "They're feeding you that supplement to create the illusion of improvement. To keep you and Alpha Elias from questioning their methods during treatment. But the instant they withdraw it, you'll crumble. Your wolf will weaken immediately. It's nothing but a smokescreen for their true agenda."
Of course. My blood turned cold. That explained everything.
