Ruby's POV
Kate and Stanley turned ghostly white almost instantly.
Just minutes before, they had been strutting around like they owned the world. Now they resembled two children caught red-handed stealing candy.
"So where's your older brother hiding?" Justin inquired casually.
"Doesn't he care that you two are destroying his empire and his pack?"
"My brother has important matters to attend to," Kate forced out between clenched teeth.
Justin released a cold laugh that sent shivers down my spine. "Perfect. That means I can walk away with his most treasured possession."
His arm encircled my waist possessively as he guided me toward the exit.
I cast one final glance at the torn contract scattered across the marble floor. A sharp pang of loss hit me unexpectedly. Such a waste. I had invested countless hours into that venture, only to watch it crumble like this.
