Seeing the panel, Kaoru Tsubasa exhaled deeply and stepped out onto the deck, gripping his sword. Then, he began his training.
"One.""Two.""Three."…"Five hundred sixty-seven.""Five hundred sixty-eight.""Five hundred sixty-nine…"
A booming laugh echoed behind him.
"Gurararara… boy, still training?"
"Yeah," Kaoru replied, not pausing. "After all, when we're on the same ship as monsters like you, Newgate, we've got no choice but to get stronger."
Newgate chuckled deeply. "Gurararara! Don't underestimate yourself, brat. At your age, even I might not have had what you already possess."
"Maybe," Kaoru said, swinging again, "but in this world, no one cares whether you're a kid or not."
Newgate leaned back on the deck, watching the steady rhythm of Kaoru's swings. "Boy, what's your dream? Why chase power like that?"
"Dream?" Kaoru's movements faltered for a moment. He thought of the memories that haunted this body — the fires, the screams, the pirates who burned and pillaged everything in sight. "I don't know," he said finally. "Maybe just… survival."
If not for Rocks' overwhelming power, Kaoru would never have joined the Rocks Pirates. These weren't noble men — they were monsters, the most ruthless of their era. Wherever they sailed, destruction followed.
"Newgate, what about you? What's your dream?"
"Me?" Newgate smiled faintly. "I just want a family."
Kaoru smiled faintly in return. "Family, huh? As expected, you're still the Whitebeard who fights for his family."
Three Days Later
Kaoru's routine continued — ten hours of training a day, earning 60 Spirit Points and 15 Sword Skill Points. He used 40 Spirit Points to unlock Armament Haki and Observation Haki, leaving him stronger than before.
But today, his training paused early. The Rocks Pirates had reached Winter Island — and the Navy was already there.
On the deck of the opposing warships stood the legends themselves: Vice Admiral Garp, Lieutenant Admiral Sengoku, Lieutenant Admiral Zephyr, and other elite vice admirals.
"Bwahahahahahaha! Sengoku! Where's that old geezer Kong? Afraid I'll kill you if he shows up?" Rocks' booming voice thundered across the sea.
"Rocks!" Garp bellowed back. "We don't need our Marshal to handle the likes of you! I'll take you down myself!"
He leapt forward, fists wrapped in Haki, brimming with reckless energy.
"Hahahahahaha! You think a brat like you can kill me? You're dreaming, Garp! All hands — attack!"
Shiki, the Golden Lion, grinned and soared forward using the Float-Float Fruit's power.
"Slash!"
His twin blades gleamed, cutting toward Sengoku — but a lieutenant general intercepted the blow midair.
"Golden Lion! Your opponent is me!" the officer barked, using Moon Step to meet him blow for blow.
As chaos erupted, Rocks clashed with Garp and Sengoku, Newgate fought Zephyr, Linlin was restrained by two vice admirals, and the rest of the Rocks crew were locked in combat.
A Marine colonel charged Kaoru using Finger Gun.
"Spiritual Art — Attack: Hurricane!"
A gust spiraled from Kaoru's blade, deflecting the strike and hurling wind toward the colonel.
"Iron Body!" the man roared, bracing himself. The wind barely scratched him.
Kaoru appeared behind him in a flash."One-Sword Style — Flowing Light!"
His blade glowed pitch-black with Armament Haki, slicing through the air in shimmering arcs.
"Pshhh!"
The colonel fell in pieces before he even realized he'd been struck.
"Brat!" Garp roared, fury lighting his eyes. "You killed one of my men! Take this punch!"
Kaoru barely had time to brace before the iron fist smashed toward him.
"Gui Ning — release!""One-Sword Style Secret Art — Flowing Dragon Flash!"
His blade shimmered with lightning as he struck back, but Garp's Haki-shrouded body withstood the blow like stone. The clash sent Kaoru flying into the warship's hull.
Crack.
He broke through the wall, landing hard.
"What a solid sword," Garp said, flexing his fist. "Didn't even cut me."
Kaoru groaned, dragging himself up — when something rolled to his feet.
A Devil Fruit.
"Perfect timing," he muttered, picking it up.
[Ding! Devil Fruit detected. Use it to unlock the Second Seal of the Sealer: Under the Moon?]"Unlock."[Ding! Congratulations. The Second Seal — Under the Moon — has been activated.]
Purple lightning flared around his legs, armor forming beneath his feet.
Lightning Seal — Under the Moon:
Speed +100%
Strength +50%
Sword Skills +30%
Special Abilities +10%
Unlocks Technique: Shadow Under the Moon
Shadow Under the Moon — creates 100 physical clones capable of attacking enemies, though enemies cannot strike back.
"Interesting…" Garp said, tightening his stance.
Kaoru smirked. "Let's see how strong the Navy's Vice Admiral really is."
"Steel Bone — Breaking Air Strike!"
A shockwave cannon blasted toward him.
"One-Sword Style: Willow Slash!"
Kaoru vanished, reappearing behind Garp, blades moving like rippling branches. But Garp's defenses held firm.
"Annoying fly!" Garp grunted. "Cyborg Smash!"
Their clashes sent shockwaves across the deck. Though Kaoru's Observation Haki allowed him to predict Garp's moves, the sheer power difference was crushing. Even his lightning armor couldn't absorb it all.
He coughed blood, kneeling. "You really are… something else, Vice Admiral Garp."
Sengoku landed beside Garp. "Still not done? He's just a kid."
"This kid," Garp growled, "is faster and stronger than most lieutenants. That sword of his—it's no ordinary blade."
"In that case," Sengoku said coldly, "let's finish him together. Talent like his… will become a threat to the Navy."
Kaoru grinned through the blood on his lips. "Two Vice Admirals against one man? You must be joking."
"Shadows Under the Moon!"
One hundred clones burst forth, surrounding both Sengoku and Garp.
"Devil Fruit user," Sengoku muttered grimly.
The clones lunged from all sides, blades flashing, buying Kaoru precious seconds.
He wasn't aiming to win — just to survive until Rocks returned.
Garp's fists crushed several clones, but they vanished like mist, only for new ones to appear. Sengoku transformed into his golden Buddha form, his immense power shaking the air — but even then, the clones swarmed endlessly.
"This boy…" Garp muttered. "He's dangerous. If he lives, he'll shake the seas themselves."
Kaoru smiled faintly, gripping his blade tighter. "Then you'd better hope you can kill me before I get serious."
