Chapter 102 - Chapter 102: Enel Submits / The Path to Three-Sword Style

Chapter 102: Enel Submits / The Path to Three-Sword Style

Grand Line - Unnamed Island

The sky was clear, the ocean vast and blue.

A warship was anchored off the coast of a deserted island. The waves lapped lazily at the shore, as if waiting for a certain "lesson" to conclude.

In the center of the island, there was a massive crater, dozens of meters wide and ten meters deep, looking as if a meteor had struck.

At the bottom of the crater, Enel lay sprawled on his back, staring blankly at the sky. His face was bruised and swollen, his golden hair a mess, his cape reduced to rags. He looked like a burnt statue in a ruin.

His golden eyes were empty, filled with the existential dread of a man questioning his entire life.

"I... lost... that easily...?"

His voice was hoarse and trembling.

Just a few days ago, he was "God," ruling Skypiea with terror, commanding lightning itself.

Now, he was lying in the dirt like a beaten dog, contemplating the meaning of existence.

It all started with a "Rehabilitation Match."

His injuries had mostly healed over the past few days. Under Roy's "Polite Human Education Therapy," he had stopped proclaiming "God is invincible" every five seconds, but his eyes still held a flicker of disdain and defiance.

He still believed that if Ace and Luffy hadn't double-teamed him, and if he hadn't underestimated them, he would have fried those Blue Sea ants to a crisp.

Roy saw right through this "residual confidence." So he found a deserted island and said, "If you say 'God' one more time, I'll break your teeth."

The fight started without warning and ended with shocking speed.

Enel had just unlocked his Seastone cuffs and was wreathed in lightning, roaring, "Blue Sea insects! Witness the power of a true God—!!"

Before he could finish, Roy simply raised a hand and pointed. "Freeze."

Space itself seemed to fold and collapse like a mirror. Enel's lightning body was instantly frozen in mid-air, his movements infinitely reset to their original position!

—This move used powerful warp abilities to continuously reset the enemy and the surrounding space to their original coordinates, effectively immobilizing them. It wouldn't work on someone with powerful Haki, but the current Enel was obviously not on that list.

He tried to break free, but to his horror, he couldn't move an inch!

"Wh... What?!"

Roy walked over, smiling gently. "What did I just say? It seems my 'polite education' hasn't sunk in yet."

The next second, the air exploded.

"BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!"

Enel didn't even see Roy move. All he felt was a storm of heavy punches, elbows, knees, sweeps, and shoulder charges slamming into his face, chest, and stomach!

For five straight minutes, a hellish combo of precise, vicious strikes landed perfectly on the line between "not dead or crippled" and "wishing you were dead"!

"Gaaah-urgh-eeek-oh—!!"

Enel couldn't even scream properly. He was bounced around like a human punching bag before being smashed into the ground with a final punch, left paralyzed at the bottom of the crater.

Roy shook out his hand. "Now. Have you learned how to speak like a human?"

At the edge of the crater, Ace, Luffy, Zoro, Kuina, and Law were sitting in a circle, sipping coconut juice and watching the "live broadcast."

"Big Bro Roy is so strong!" Luffy's eyes were stars as he gnawed on a chicken leg.

Ace's mouth twitched. "That's not 'strong,' that's a different species entirely."

Zoro crossed his arms, eyes closed. "One day... I will challenge him!"

Kuina glanced at him. "Survive one of his punches first."

Law adjusted his hat, his tone calm. "Big Bro Roy... are you sure about leaving him there? Aren't you afraid he'll run?"

Roy, walking back slowly, didn't even turn around. "Ask him if he dares."

In the crater, Enel flinched as if a cold wind had blown down his spine.

His Mantra told him very clearly:

If you move, even a toe, the next second you will be warped back and beaten even harder.

So, he shut up. He lay quietly, looking at the sky, pondering the logistical structure of faith.

A bird flew overhead, the sun warm and bright, offering a final comfort to the fallen "God."

—The Thunder God had officially abdicated. Human "Polite Education" never fails.

The setting sun painted the island ruins blood-red.

After a long time, Enel staggered out of the crater, step by painful step. His head hung low, his expression complicated. He walked up to Roy.

After a long silence, he spoke, his voice rasping like a broken gong. "What... do you want from me?"

Roy looked at him, wearing a smile that was equal parts "kind elder" and "strict teacher." "Simple. From today on, you are not a 'God.' You are a 'human.'"

"Either you come with us obediently and accept the Navy's 're-education.'"

"Or..."

Roy slowly raised his fist, cracking his knuckles loudly. "I can continue to help you reinforce your 'human cognition.'"

Cold sweat ran down Enel's face. He gritted his teeth for a few seconds, then finally whispered, "I... I'll go with you."

"Good," Roy nodded, satisfied. "You're finally acting like a person."

As the ship sailed away in the sunset, Enel, wearing custom Seastone cuffs, was thrown into the heavy confinement brig. He was also "thoughtfully" provided with a textbook titled Moral Cultivation and Cognitive Restructuring.

Luffy leaned over the railing, the wind blowing his hair, looking at the red horizon. "Big Bro Roy, where are we going next?"

Roy stretched out on a deck chair. "Mmm, back to Marineford first."

Night - On Deck

The stars were bright. Ace was drinking a Skypiean soda and eating an apple. Luffy was burping over the railing. Kuina and Zoro sat nearby, looking at the stars.

"Your strikes are more stable than before," Kuina said, looking at Zoro's swords.

"Yeah," Zoro nodded, but he didn't look happy. "But the more I train, the more I feel like... Two-Sword Style isn't enough."

He paused. "My speed and reaction time are pushing the limit, but I still feel like the force... is missing something."

"You're missing a third sword, aren't you?" Kuina hit the nail on the head.

"Yeah! I want to try developing the Three-Sword Style I've been thinking about," Zoro admitted, his voice tinged with frustration. "But I haven't found a third sword good enough yet."

(Note: In the original story, Zoro developed Three-Sword Style after Kuina's death to fulfill their promise. Here, he is developing it on his own through training and experimentation.)

Roy, who was dozing nearby, opened one eye. He heard their conversation and smiled.

"Zoro really is coolest with Three-Sword Style..."

He sat up, yawning lazily. "Hmm, a good sword... I seem to recall a certain place has a pretty nice blade."

Zoro's ears perked up. He sat up straight. "What sword?"

"I think it's one of the 21 Great Grade Swords~"

"!!!" Zoro jumped to his feet.

Even Kuina gasped. "Big Bro Roy, are you serious?"

"Mhm," Roy chuckled. "But... if you want that sword, you'll have to pass a little test from Uncle Kizaru first."

"Teacher... Kizaru?!"

Zoro's face turned green. "You mean the guy who can kick me off the island and make me swim back?!"

Ace crunched his apple. "Uncle Kizaru is brutal..."

Law nodded calmly. "It's not impossible to pass. It just... hurts."

Kuina smiled, shaking her head. "Are you afraid of a little pain, Mr. Swordsman?"

Zoro's eyes instantly lit up with fire. He gripped his swords. "...Six months."

"In six months, I will land a hit on Teacher Kizaru!"

He spoke each word with heavy determination. "I will make myself worthy of a true third sword!"

"I'll be waiting~" Roy yawned, closing his eyes again. "Remember what you said today."

The night was deep, the stars like silver sand. The warship cut through the waves, the word "Justice" on the flag swaying in the night sky.

Zoro looked down at his sword hilt, his resolve set in stone.
