Chapter 96: Skypiea - War
Angel Island - Cloud Battlefield
The thunder roared like a thousand dragons, a violent, raging storm.
Enel's wrathful lightning fell from the heavens, swallowing the sky and earth, turning Angel Island into a prison of golden electricity!
Just as destruction was about to land—
FWOOSH!
A blur flashed. Roy, holding Conis, vanished instantly.
The next second, they reappeared on a high cloud platform, far from the blast zone.
Roy set the shaken Conis down behind a cloud barrier, then turned back, crossing his arms. He looked down at the battlefield with that same teasing smile.
In the air, thunder shook, and clouds scattered.
Enel floated in mid-air, his golden eyes fixed coldly on the boy wreathed in flames. Lightning danced on his fingertips, radiating killing intent.
"An ant from the Blue Sea dares to look directly at God?"
Ace answered with a fearless grin. Azure flames roared on his fists, distorting the air.
"God? You're just a narcissistic lightning bastard."
"Fire Pillar!"
He punched forward. The flames compressed on his arm, reaching their limit, then exploded into a beam of blue-white fire that shot straight into the sky, aimed right at Enel!
Enel's eyes flashed with surprise. He snorted, and his body dissolved into lightning—
ZAP!
He reappeared behind Ace!
"20 Million Volts: Discharge!"
"BOOM!!!"
High-voltage lightning exploded with a deafening crack right behind Ace!
Lightning met fire, detonating in a chaotic mix of energy. The clouds were blasted into a hundred-meter crater, the storm churning the sea of white!
Enel narrowed his eyes. Ace's fiery form hadn't evaporated under the lightning. A rare look of shock crossed Enel's face. "You... can also use the power of 'God'?"
Ace brushed a scorch mark off his shoulder, sneering. "Don't get confused. This isn't 'divine power.'"
"You just ate a Logia fruit and started calling yourself a god? You're pretty arrogant."
Enel's face darkened. Lightning crackled, his aura spiking!
"The arrogant one is you!!"
He accelerated, turning into a bolt of lightning, closing the distance instantly!
"60 Million Volts: Thunder Beast!"
He struck the golden drums on his back, releasing serpents of lightning that formed into a giant wolf of high-voltage electricity, lunging at Ace!
"Flame Mirror!"
Ace roared, swinging his arm. A massive wall of fire erupted to meet the beast!
Fire and lightning clashed head-on, creating a blinding ring of light in the sky!
Rolling waves of thunder and flame swept in all directions. The battle for the sky had entered its berserk phase!
East Cloud Sea
Zoro vs. Ohm!
Ohm's "Iron Cloud Sword" constantly shifted shape, transforming from a whip to a hammer, then solidifying into a trident.
"In my 'Trial of Iron,'" Ohm said, his voice cold and indifferent, "that blade of yours is nothing but dull iron."
Zoro drew his swords. "Then let's see if this 'dull iron' can chop off that ugly face of yours."
"Soru!" He kicked off the clouds!
"Two-Sword Style: Hawk Wave!!"
A slash like a gust of wind rushed at Ohm!
Ohm didn't panic. His sword transformed into a fan-shape to block, his Mantra predicting the slash's path perfectly. He countered! "Iron Cloud: Break!"
"CLANG!"
Sparks flew! Zoro was knocked back several meters, a cut opening on his cheek from the fan's edge. Blood trickled down his chin.
He wiped it away, his fighting spirit only growing hotter. He grinned dangerously. "Tch... interesting."
Ohm's sword shifted again, becoming a winding iron whip that hissed through the air!
"Iron Cloud: Throat Lock!"
Zoro flipped away, crossing his swords to block, then stomped down—
"Two-Sword Style: Waning Moon!"
Two cross-shaped air slashes fired instantly! The clouds were sliced open, and the iron whip was forcefully deflected!
Ohm frowned. "Your strength is decent, but your movements... are too easy to read!"
With that, the Iron Cloud Sword extended, transforming into a lightning-fast rapier, thrusting at Zoro's throat!
Zoro's eyes sharpened. He ducked and slashed horizontally. "Two-Sword Style: Cycle Cut!"
The two engaged in close-quarters combat, blades flashing, every move a dance with death!
South Cloud Sea
The wind howled, hot flames rolling through the clouds.
Shura, his arms wrapped in searing "String Clouds," his heat-dial lance on his back, rode his giant bird, Fuza. He looked like a hunter toying with prey.
He licked his lips, a twisted smile on his face.
"Woman, is your sword faster than my fire?"
He drew his lance, the tip glowing so hot it distorted the air. A wave of heat washed over them!
Kuina was unfazed. She held Wado Ichimonji in one hand, the blade humming slightly, her aura calm but ready to strike like a blue light.
She exhaled softly. "Let's find out."
"Flash!"
A gleam of light, like a passing breeze. She vanished!
SHING!!
Her blade cut through the heat, aimed straight at Shura's throat!
Shura's eyes flashed. He laughed, throwing out a loop of cloud-rope. "String Bind: Lock!"
Dozens of steel-hard cloud strings shot from his lance, forming a net to trap Kuina!
But in the next instant, the strings were cut cleanly by her blade, her intent unbroken!
"Too slow."
Kuina spoke coldly, lightly stepping on the cloud surface, spinning and closing in again!
Shura gritted his teeth and roared, reversing his lance and stabbing it into the cloud floor, triggering a massive blast!
"Heat Dial: Rift!"
A wave of fire erupted like a volcano, scorching the clouds and rolling toward Kuina!
Kuina hopped lightly, using the rising cloud chunks as stepping stones, dancing through the fire like a swallow. She cut through the heat wave and slashed backhanded:
"Cloud Dance: Swallow Reversal!"
A bloody gash opened on Shura's back. He nearly dropped his lance!
"Ha... not bad..."
Shura licked the blood from his lip, his eyes going wild.
"But do you think that's enough to win?"
He launched himself into the air, firing dozens of cloud-ropes from his back, forming a multi-layered web trap high above!
Kuina looked up, her expression serious but fearless. She turned Wado Ichimonji.
"Come on. Let me cut down your arrogance!"
West Cloud Sea
Mist rolled, and Swamp Clouds churned like a living monster, blocking most of the view with a suffocating, sticky smell.
Gedatsu, wearing his muddy cloud suit and utilizing Milky Dials for high-speed gliding, moved like a phantom snake, agile and bizarre.
"Suffocate... in my Swamp Clouds!"
He threw his hand out, and a glob of gray-black swamp cloud, trailing sticky threads, flew at Law!
The air felt heavy and muted.
Law stood still. He raised his right hand, extending a finger. "ROOM: Scan."
A blue sphere instantly expanded, sweeping the area!
FWOOSH!
Just as the swamp cloud was about to swallow him, he vanished, swapping places with a distant stone pillar!
The next instant, he appeared behind Gedatsu, drawing his sword!
"Amputate!"
A flash of purple electricity, the blade aimed at Gedatsu's heart!
Gedatsu spun, his Milky Dials exploding, forcing a hard slide to dodge the attack!
"Jet: Move!"
He turned into a blur, diving from the sky, sweeping up clouds and debris as he came!
"You think those parlor tricks can trap me?"
Law's expression didn't change. He calmly raised his hands again. "ROOM: Shambles!"
He swapped places with a piece of cut cloud-rock again, then swung his sword—
"Injection Shot!"
The surgical slash flew out, hitting Gedatsu's left shoulder!
"Hiss!!"
Gedatsu grunted in pain as half his armor was sheared off, blood dripping into the swamp.
"Tch... you guy... you're annoying."
He spat out a cloud of black poison fog to blind Law, while controlling the swamp to spread further, trying to compress Law's operating room!
But Law just smiled coldly, his feet shifting. "ROOM: Tact!"
The entire cloud field turned blue, as if he had cut the sky open!
"Your 'swamp'... is too dirty. Let me 'clean' it for you."
They clashed again in the mist and blue light, blades, spatial ripples, and swamp slime colliding!
On the flanks of the battlefield, fire and thunder roared, sword light and poison clouds churned!
