Chapter 1 - Yeah I'm in another world

"So this is what it feels like to get isekai into another world… but WHY THE FUCK AM I IN A FOREST, YOU FUCKING GODDESS?!"

My voice echoed through the trees. A cold, calm wind drifted across the forest, warm sunlight filtering through the leaves. The sound of birds and insects filled the air, adding a strange sense of peace. The air was clean, too clean. I sat down under a tree, leaning back against its rough bark. The grass was soft. Honestly… it felt kinda nice. Peaceful, even.

You're probably confused, right? Alright, let's rewind a little, but don't worry, I'm not gonna throw you into a dramatic flashback or anything. I'll just explain the long story in short.

So, my name's Jin. Yeah, I know. You've probably seen that name before. If you've read this author's other work, you wanna know a secret? Yeah, he sucks at naming. Every protagonist's name is Jin. I don't even have a surname. I'm an orphan. But don't read too much into it, I don't have some tragic backstory or anything. I had a good, normal life.

Anyway, I'm 24 years old. I lived, well, used to live, in Portugal. Don't ask for a proper address, alright? The author probably just searched it on the internet, a random place, and slapped it in here. All this nonsense I'm rambling about right now? Yeah, it's just filler to boost the word count. Nothing more.

The author's kind of laz- ..You know what? Maybe I shouldn't mess with him. He might actually give me a tragic backstory if I keep talking.

Back to the story.

Truck-kun.. Yeah, I got hit by it. While crossing the road, on an empty street, with the signal red. And I still got hit. Like the damn truck just teleported there.

I mean, isn't that truck supposed to be limited to Asia? Word of advice, don't go jumping in front of random trucks in Asia thinking, "Oh, I'll get isekai." No, you won't. You're not the main character. And even if you are, just don't. You'll either die for real or spend the rest of your life strapped to a hospital bed with tubes up your nose.

Now, back to the truck, that shit was brutal. I can still remember the pain, in slow motion. And trust me, no fiction ever showed it right. My bones didn't just break, they were crushed.

I flew like a ragdoll and slammed into a signal pole, spine, first. Felt like I split in two… but nope, I was still in one piece. Which somehow made it worse.

And I just lay there.. Bleeding out. For like.... ten, maybe twenty minutes. And not a single fucker came to help. Not one. Just a bunch of useless NPCs standing in a circle like I was performing some goddamn circus trick.

Then I die because of blood loss.

Like, seriously, isn't the isekai process supposed to go? Truck hits, BAM! New world! Nobody mentioned the agonizingly painful part in between.

And so, after I died, I opened my eyes and found myself in a cloudy place. And there she was, that baddie. Oh my author, what should I even say? I mean, I can't exactly say "Oh my God" when I don't even have one.

But aside from jokes. She was sexy. What a beauty. If I had known that chick was waiting for me after death, I would've died ages ago. I'd show you a picture, but the author isn't good enough at drawing to do her justice.

And yeah, she said she was a goddess. That's what she told me, and honestly? I believed it. I mean.... she had two big reasons to convince me, very convincing ones, so I believed her instantly.

She told me... hmm, now that I think about it, she did say something at the start, but my focus was definitely somewhere else. I mean, be real, man, how could I not? I tuned back to her voice a little later. She said I died accidentally.

Like, really? Accidentally? That's it? You're a goddess, couldn't you have just stopped the truck? It popped out of nowhere like it had a personal grudge against me! But then again… now that I think about it.... how else would I have gotten isekai?

She gave me the ability. I was happy at first, excited. But then she told me it was.. a healing ability. Like, really? What the hell am I supposed to do with that? Become a doctor? I mean, sure, the ability was high-level, like, way high-level, borderline broken, but still. Healing? That's not exactly the power fantasy I signed up for.

Then she gave me another one. How do I even explain it... It's like a scanner or something. It shows what a living being has, name, age, race, all that. I haven't tried it yet, so I'm not sure how accurate it is, but as she explained it, I can see info above any living thing: humans, animals, even insects. Sounds cool, right? Nope. It's not only useless, it's actually fucking useless.

Then she asked me if I wanted anything else. Naturally, I asked for a hug. Just one.

She didn't even flinch, just dropped me here without a second thought.

And now I'm in this new world. In a forest. Can't say much, but judging by the silence, trees, and zero signs of civilisation, I'm probably deep inside this place.

"FUCK YOU!! YOU FUCKING GODDESS!!" I screamed again.

Ahh.. my throat is getting dry now, but it actually feels kinda good. It's peaceful here.

Now I gotta get out of this forest... but where the hell should I go? Everywhere I look, it's trees, trees, and yeah, you guessed it, more trees. Just an endless sea of green sticks and leaves.

Oh, oh, oh, wait.. Don't tell me... are you sending a beautiful chick here? Someone on a hunt or something? Maybe an elf with a crossbow? Or a lost princess? Oh, my dear author, I didn't know you were kind enough to bless me with a harem. Just like Jinhwan, huh? Damn, this shit is emotional... I wipe away a single tear of happiness with the back of my right hand. Thank you. Truly.

Suddenly, the wind picked up speed. The atmosphere shifted, just like that. The trees started to move, leaves flying everywhere like a sudden storm was rolling in. And no, I'm not giving you tiny little poetic details. This is what you're getting from my point of view, so imagine it for yourself. That's the deal.

The sky darkened a bit, clouds rolled in, thick and black, like rain was about to fall. But then.. they started moving. Not just drifting, I mean actually moving, like they were forming something.

I got up from the ground, brushing the dirt off my back, and looked up. The clouds.. they took shape. I squinted. Was that a hand?

And then I saw it clearly.

It was a middle finger?...

I stood there, stunned for a few minutes. I mean.. seriously? A middle finger? If you don't wanna give me a harem, just say it. Did you really have to go all out and create this dramatic scene?

"Fuck you, Autho-"

BOOMMMMMM!!

A sudden lightning bolt struck just a few feet beside me. My whole body went numb, completely drained of strength, as I collapsed to the ground. My heart was pounding so fast I thought it might tear right out of my chest. I was sweating like crazy, completely soaked in my own panic.

"Yo..you don't have... to get serious, dude. I was just kidding, you know.. ha... haha.... ha....."

And just like that, the atmosphere shifted again. Back to normal. Sunlight filtered calmly through the trees. The wind had softened, peaceful again, like nothing ever happened. I turned my head a little, still lying there in shock, and looked toward where the lightning had struck.

Wiping the sweat from my face, I slowly got up and took a few shaky steps toward it. That's when I saw it.

There was an arrow-shaped mark scorched into the ground, pointing in a clear direction. I let out a long sigh of relief.

Look, Mr. Author, if you just wanted to show me the way out of this forest, you couldn't have done it the easy way. I almost died from a heart attack. If I weren't the protagonist, I'd be a corpse by now, and that would've been on you.

I looked in that direction, nothing. Just trees and grass. Honestly, I've never touched this much grass in my entire life as I have today. Man.. I miss my old life. But it is what it is. Let's go.

And yeah, just so you know, the next chapter's gonna start after I get out of this forest. I'm not about to explain every boring step when there's nothing to show.
