Maya's POV
"Derek is in danger." I bang on his apartment door. "Derek! Open up!"
No answer. The building doorman stops me. "Mr. Walsh left with Ms. Chaiyasit an hour ago. Said they're flying to Thailand tonight."
"Tonight? But the wedding is in six months!"
"Apparently they moved it up. Left for the airport already."
I race to my car. Call Ethan. "Derek and Siri are flying to Thailand. Tonight. We need to stop them!"
"Why? Let Derek get married if he wants."
"Because Siri is James's stepdaughter! She poisoned Chen! She's dangerous!"
"That's just an anonymous email. You don't know if it's true."
"My gut knows. And my gut has kept us alive this long. I'm going to the airport."
The traffic is terrible. Every light is red. Every lane is stopped. By the time I reach JFK, Derek's plane has already taken off.
I'm too late.
"We'll call him when he lands," Ethan says. "Explain everything. Warn him."
