Maya's POV
"We're not sleeping tonight." I stare at the mobile above Chen's crib. "Someone was in here. While we were gone. They touched my baby's things."
"The police cleared the house," Ethan says. But his voice shakes.
"Then how did this get here? How did someone hang a mobile without the police seeing it?"
Detective Morrison examines the mobile carefully. "This was installed recently. Within the last hour. Which means either someone got past our officers"
"Or one of your officers IS the stalker," I finish.
He pulls out his radio. "I want everyone on this detail questioned. Background checks. Everything. Someone betrayed us."
But who? And how do we sleep when we can't trust the people protecting us?
"We're leaving," Ethan decides. "Tonight. We pack the kids and go to a hotel. Somewhere anonymous. Somewhere safe."
"Nowhere is safe. This person found Derek in Thailand. Found Siri. Knows everything about us."
"Then what do we do?"
