Maya's POV
"The babies are gone!" I scream. "Someone took them!"
Ethan runs past me. Checks every room. Every closet. Every possible hiding place.
"They're not in the house!"
Detective Morrison is already on his radio. "All units, we have a double infant abduction. Amber Alert immediately. Suspects: Angela Martinez, possibly armed and dangerous."
But then Hope appears in the hallway. Rubbing her eyes. "Why everyone yelling?"
"Hope, did you see anyone take the babies?"
"What babies?"
"James and Chen. From their cribs."
"Oh. Daddy took them downstairs. Said they were crying and he didn't want to wake me."
Relief floods through me. "Ethan didn't take them downstairs. He's right here."
Hope looks confused. "Not that daddy. Other daddy."
"Derek?" But Derek is in Thailand. Isn't he?
We run downstairs. Find Derek in the living room. Holding both babies. Rocking them gently.
"What are you doing here?" I demand. "Why didn't you tell us you were in the house?"
