Victoria Sterling stood before the full-length mirror in her palace suite, examining the latest wedding dress fitting. White silk, intricate beading, a train that would require three attendants. Fit for a future queen.
"Beautiful, Miss Sterling," the seamstress said, adjusting the hem. "You'll be the most stunning bride Norvale has ever seen."
Victoria smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. "Thank you. That will be all for today."
The seamstress and her assistants gathered their supplies and left. The moment the door closed, Victoria's pleasant expression vanished.
