"We'll place her in the driver's seat of your car, spray her with alcohol, and push it off the cliff." Robbie grinned, "I love the classics, you'll never go wrong," he chuckled derisively at the bound Cecilia. He then dragged their captive to the edge of the cliff, while Beth positioned the car.
"Right, so is this near enough?" When she got a nod from her partner, she got out of the car and watched in delight as Cecilia, now her restraints removed, was shoved inside the car. She continued to struggle from her captors. Robbie grabbed her by the hair and slammed her head into the steering wheel. The impact weakened Cecilia to the point that her body lay flaccid on the driver's seat.
Beth retrieved a bottle of rum from Robbie's car and tilted their victim's head, and poured the contents down her throat. This caused Cecilia to be roused, and she struggled against the woman. Cecilia, with a burst of strength, pushed Beth away. She was able to get out of the car just in time as it was pushed over the edge.
Cecilia was about to run away, but Beth grabbed her by the ankle, and she stumbled to the ground. Robbie quickly subdued their captive, saying: "That was a waste of a perfectly good car! You derailed my plan…I hate it when my plan falls apart! This is all your fault!" berating his captive, blaming her for the failure of his plan.
Robbie felt a surge of anger and adrenaline. With little to no effort, he lifted Cecilia high above his head. "Wait, what are you doing? NO! NO! NO! Don't do it!" she pleaded, but her words fell on deaf ears.
Beth, on the other hand, was gleefully watching the scene unfold. "Do it, baby, flex those muscles, throw her over the edge!" she cheered on in a twisted sense of encouragement. "Throw her over the cliff…I'm so turned on, finish her quickly, I want to have sex with you right here, right now!"
Robbie only grinned as he walked closer to the edge, hoisting her higher over his head, ready to throw their victim over the cliff. "You sick bastards, you won't get away from this! I will come back to punish you both! MARK MY WORDS, I WILL COME BACK AND PUNISH YOU BOTH!" Cecilia screamed as she was thrown to her death.
"That was marvelous, baby… I'm so turned on by your strength!" Before Beth and Robbie could celebrate, a black blur zipped past the two of them and jumped over the cliff. "What was that?" were the only words the two could muster.
As she fell to her certain doom, Cecilia felt her heart racing and her chest tightening as if it were being compressed. Her breath hitched like it was lodged in something. Her surroundings spun, making it impossible for her to know which was up and which was down. She felt as if she were drowning; she clawed at the air, trying to grapple for something, but there was nothing to hold onto.
"I don't want to die…I don't want to die! Please, somebody…anybody help me." She called to her grandfather in her head, "Pops, sorry…I won't be coming back."
Chris spotted a jagged ledge jutting from the cliffside. With fierce determination, he grabbed and used it to propel himself forward, slicing through the air, his body streamlined and powerful. His hand shot out, fingers stretching desperately toward the falling figure. When Cecilia looked up, she saw Chris speeding towards her, his arm reaching out.
She stretched her hands upward, helping to bridge the gap between them. Closing her eyes, just as she thought it would be too late, their fingers met—warm, strong, and unyielding. Chris's grip tightened as he pulled her close, cradling her against his chest. The terror in her eyes faded, replaced by a glowing hope. Her arms wrapped instinctively around his neck, holding on as if he were the only thing keeping her tethered to life.
She opened her eyes again to see Chris, and the two glanced with their eyes, staying on each other. To her, this was the first time she noticed how his features shone brightly; her heart beat rapidly again, not from fear or sorrow but from something more profound.
"He was always there," she thought, "He was always there to save me." Thinking back on all the times Chris saved her from certain doom, snatching her away from the clutches of death and despair.
Cecilia could feel their descent gradually slowing down until they came to a gentle stop. She knew they were on solid ground, but she still held on to the captain. Chris felt the same way when she first embraced him, how his heart jumped, and how he felt vulnerable. Something deep inside his mind is a heartwarming feeling that he wants to feel again.
