Chapter 57 - The Accomplice

"You're Georgia Tan! Arnulfo Tan's widow?" Cecilia paced back, connecting the dots as she kept her distance from Beth. "Oh my god…you have been going around, marrying these well-off men, then killing them to get their fortunes," she deduced, her eyes darting around her to find a weapon to defend herself.

"Rick haunting you is because…you killed him, didn't you? He found out who you are, and you killed him to keep your secret." She tried to steer herself towards the kitchen, but Betheliza was wary of Cecilia's intent and blocked the passageway.

Beth teared up and began to sob, "I had no choice, he was blackmailing me, coercing me to have sex with him in exchange for his silence!"

"Don't kid yourself, the moment he told you that he knew your secret…you already decided that you need to get rid of him," Cecilia snapped back, brushing off her adversary's reason for killing.

Beth scoffed and dried the crocodile tears from her eyes and cheeks. "Ugh…was it that transparent? I need to take acting lessons again." Beth's grin was filled my malevolent intent; she smashed the bottle in her hand, creating a sharp weapon. "Don't move, I will carve that pretty little face of yours!"

Lunging at her prey, she was able to gash Cecilia on the shoulder; luckily, it was only a shallow cut. Adrenaline coursed through Cecilia's body, and she perfectly timed toppling a display cabinet on top of her attacker, the moment she lunged at her.

"This is my chance!" she thought, running away and making a beeline for the front door. She opened the door and was about to exit when a man stood in front of her. Realizing that the man was the information desk attendant, a wave of relief washed over her as she thought she was finally saved. Cecilia quickly pointed at Beth and said, "Sir, arrest that woman! She is a serial murderer, and I have proof!"

But it was not the salvation that she thought; she felt a blunt object hit her on the stomach. It felt like being hit by a car. She dropped to her knees, and the pain of her abdominal muscles contracting felt like a vise squeezing them. Her breath hitched in her throat, and soon enough she succumbed to darkness. The man closed the door and helped Beth up. The woman walked over to the unconscious Cecilia, lifted her hand with the broken bottle, ready to stab her prey.

"Not here!" The man stopped Beth by grabbing her wrist. "We're going to make a mess,"

"But this bitch almost killed me," She snapped back at her accomplice.

"She'll get hers, but not here." He embraced Beth and kissed her passionately, "Just like how I took care of the others."

Beth melted in the kiss and purred seductively, "I always love watching you work." She broke away from the embrace and turned to the unconscious Cecilia, and with her foot, brushed away the hair covering their victim's face.

"Wait for me before you kill her, this is the first time I'll watch you work your magic on a girl…it's going to be hot!" She giggled, "I'll get you a suitcase, so you can wheel this bitch out of here." She then ran to the storage closet.

The man rummaged through one of the living room drawers and found a roll of duct tape. He returned to Cecilia and began to bind and gag her.

Beth came out with a suitcase large enough to carry Cecilia. The two stuffed their prey inside, closed, and secured it. "I will meet you in an hour at the usual place," The man instructed Beth, and they shared a kiss before leaving the condo unit, wheeling the big suitcase with him. After closing the door, Beth ran to her bedroom to get dressed. Excitement was bubbling over her, eager to watch her accomplice kill a woman for the first time.

At the building lobby, one of the guards notices the rather large suitcase. "What do we have in there, sir Robbie?" An innocent smile greeted Beth's accomplice.

"Some old clothes, Miss Beth pledged to donate." He wheeled the suitcase closer to the guard. "Would you like to take a look?"

The guard waved both his hands, "No need, sir Robbie, it's for donation…Madame Beth sure has a kind heart, donating to those in need." The young guard opened the door to let the man pass.

When Robbie reached his car, he opened the trunk and effortlessly placed the suitcase containing Cecilia inside. He closed the trunk, boarded his car, and drove off, a smug grin appearing on his face, confident that they were about to get away with their crimes.

After almost an hour of driving, Robbie parked his car in a clearing overlooking a cliff. He got out of the car and opened the trunk. When he opened the suitcase, Cecilia started to kick and claw at the man holding her captive. She was, however, not strong enough to escape. One slap and her head began to spin.

"I hate it when they struggle," Robbie uttered, his voice filled with annoyance. "You should accept your fate, cooperate, and make my life easier. Rather than resisting like this, you're only adding to your suffering."

"And what do you want? I just let you end my life like that?" Cecilia thought to herself, despite being dizzy from the hit. As she was pulled up to her feet, she concentrated on one name, "Captain…where are you, Captain?" she called in her mind over and over again. Despite being supported, Cecilia staggered as she was led away from the car.

Later, a pair of headlights shone at the two. Robbie stood up, wary, he watched as the second car parked and turned off the headlights. His demeanor changed to one of relaxation and relief when he saw Beth coming out of the second car.

With a malicious grin, Beth walked towards Robbie as she glanced at their soon-to-be victim. Cecilia, bound, glared back at the pair, an air of clear defiance emanating from the prey.

"Don't mind her," Beth said to Robbie, as she gently turned his face to hers, "It is only natural for the weak to showcase a misplaced bravado in a pathetic attempt to intimidate the strong." She planted a kiss on the man's lips, then asked, "So, what shall we do with her?"

"Everyone in the lobby saw her go to your home. Did you cover your face when you left? "He asked, to which the woman nodded. "Good! Killing this bitch is not enough. We'll sully her name by reporting that she stole from you."

Beth gave a little clap, "Ooh! A twist, I love twists," squealing delightfully at the plan. "So how are we going to do this?" enthusiastically asking, how they are going to execute their sinister plan.
