Chapter 37:The Gathering Storm
Kimiko,Irai and I all sat in one room while we had Yanagi prepare food for us after a long day of training.I let out a sigh and cleared my throat.
"We've tried and tried and tried!Nothing seems to work.But that doesn't mean we stop."
"That's the spirit Maku."Irai comfortably said.
We all decided to have a secret meeting to discuss the ILO and the possible rebellion that might occur. We stared at each others reflections on the glass table.
"Pass the ancient book Kimiko."I demanded.She grabbed it and carefully passed it onto Irai before he lended it to me.I turned to page 108.There were the strange symbols and text we did our best at decoding.
"Kimiko."
"Yes?"
"Explain to me what you saw at the beach.The vision that you and Toru saw.Why you two?Why?"
"I don't know why but…the ILO came before me.There was a demon,a sea serpent and an angel."
"The angel has to be one our side then!"After complaining,Irai slammed the glass table. He quickly apologized saying it was an accident.
"We don't know their intentions."
"Let me finish!"
"Alright then.Say what you have to."I folded my arms and leaned back into a comfortable position.
"The sky was painted red. We were still on the beach and I saw a glowing person in the void. It was probably Toru. I bet he saw the same thing."
"How could he see the ILO at the same time as you?"
"It was celestial.A vision from her."Irai then spoke again.
"Huh?"
"Remember when she gave me the dream and we first heard of the ILO?"
"Yeah…what about it?"
"She uses illusions to warn us about things even from another dimension.Toru and I didn't actually see the ILO but an illusion of them.A sign from celestial.She basically told me that the ILO would split into three all having their own personalities."
"Is that what they said when they spoke to you?"
"Yeah."
"So let me retell everything that you just told me."
"Ok.."
"You're basically saying that you and Toru saw an illusion of the ILO from celestial saying they would split into three different entities on the day they come after the signs and that right now they're barely conscious and they're also one being right now that are prophesied to come?"
"YES.EXACTLY THAT!WORD FOR WORD!"
"Good so we figured that out.I've lost track of the signs that's why I asked for the book."I skimmed and scanned.
"The three signs.The loss of time.A bloodmoon occurring and…"
"What is it Maku?"
"A silent city.Which thankfully it hasn't happened yet but it will eventually."
Then it fell silent.IRONIC. We had to keep it loud.The people were thankful I became emperor.
I used my money build homes for homeless people so poverty wouldn't increase like it had in the last few years when Aizakku was around.
After the meeting ended. We all had the food that Yanagi made for us.I then took a shower and fell asleep.
Closing my eyes,the mystery of the ILO still remained inside my head…
