Chapter 3 - Well Shit

Deyja opened his eyes to another unfamiliar sight. This time, it did not leave him anything remotely similar to speechless.

In front of him, were two giants. Massive, powerful and VERY real giants. His sight was blurry for some reason, but he could make out their distinctly human form. It scared the living shit out of him.

One of them was holding him and smiling contently, no doubt thinking of her future meal. Despite his wonky eyesight, he could make out the fact that this one was a she-giant.

Deyja screamed bloody murder at the sight of them.

Shit that chalk stick lied to me! I've already died once! Why do I need to die again as a meal for giants?

Desperately, he tried to free himself but found his body refused to obey him. His breathing became fast and erratic as he tried to find a way to escape. Deyja saw the other decidedly male giant move closer to him, causing him to break out of his trail of thoughts.

"Damn our baby has a good pair of lungs in him!" One of the giants said.

Huh?

"Language dear!" The one holding him replied. "We don't want him to pick up words like that."

Huh?

"He cant even understand us though!" The giant protested.

"I don't care." The she back.

Oh snap. This one's scary.

The gears in Deyja's head were turning at breakneck speed.

Baby.

Giants.

Pick up words.

I'm a fucking baby.

Well shit.

Upon the realization, Deyja let out a wail.

This can't be! I'm going to have to go through school all over again. No! I refuse to wake up at 6 in the morning ever again! Even that chalk stick can't make me!

"There, there, my sun," the giant holding him tight - who he assumed was his mother - comforted him. Despite his confusion and rage, something deep within him resonated with her voice. He calmed down quicker than he thought possible.

Think this through idiot. The chalk stick said this would be beneficial. What benefits are there?

It was then that a second realization hit him. Deyja found himself smiling. How had he not realized earlier? He was painfully aware of how no matter what he did, he would never be a genius. Memories or not, his emotions remained. His personality remained. He could feel it within himself, repressed feelings of envy. But now, HE could be like them. A genius.

Deyja let out a excited laugh, causing his new parents to squeal in delight.

Watch me new parents, your son is going to be the brightest star in the sky.

"What do you think we should name him?" His father asked.

His mother smiled. "Hikaru. His name is Hikaru."

That name... its Japanese! So, I wasn't born in the same country as last time. Interesting!

Deyja attempted to voice his approval of the name, causing his parents to grow more excited.

With the sheer amount of attention they were giving him, he almost felt like he needed no one else to pay him any attention. Almost.

Have fun watching me chalk stick, I'll give you a show that makes your little divine game worth it.
