Dream stood in front of Rock's desk, wearing his signature black hoodie.
"I have never! never had a student as troublesome as you!"
Dream's head hung low as Rock placed an incident report on the table.
"Multiple concussions, a broken nose, a broken jaw, a skull fracture, another broken jaw and multiple avulsions, and a severed femoral artery! What do you have to say for yourself?!"
Awakened Rock asked, his eyes blazing with so much fury that Dream almost thought they'd turn red for a second.
Dream tilted his head upwards, "They jumped me and still lost, it ain't my fault."
That seemed to piss him off even more, "Yeah, I know they tried to gang up on you. But that doesn't justify this much violence! You responded with more than what was needed!" He shouted, "That too in seven minutes."
Dream pouted, "Seven?! I thought it was only 4!"
"This isn't a matter to laugh at!"
Dream nodded, "I know. It's just that it's funny. Six men walk into a washroom, and only one walls out. It's a good joke, and it'll be even funnier when people realise they were sprawled on the ground, foaming."
Instructor Rock paused, considering his words before his eyes fluttered open, "YOU BAST—"
…
Maybe cracking sex jokes in the middle of being yelled at wasn't a good idea.
After a long lecture, Instructor Rock finally calmed.
Rock sighed, "You shattered two jaws in a fight."
"They were talking a little too much."
Hearing his dry words, Rock jabbed a finger at him. ""You don't get to stand there and act like some comedian! I've had brawls, gang fights, Awakened meltdowns— but you?"
He pointed at the report. "You're a one-man natural disaster!"
Dream scratched his chin, "That's a cool title."
Rock pressed both hands into his temples, breathing once, deeply, like he was physically fighting the urge to throw Dream out the window.
"Sleeper Dream," he said, voice strained, "You are not normal. You are not even close. You're the only street rat in the history of this Academy to take down a legacy — with unprecedented skill too."
Dream grinned, loving the glaze.
Instructor Rock sighed, "You should know, you are on the verge of being classified as an unstable Sleeper. Do you know wha—"
"Why?" Dream quickly interrupted him, "A school yard brawl won't bring that much attention."
Instructor Rock hesitated before quickly revealing the answer, "You know how Tom and the others are Caster's followers?"
"Tom?" Dream asked, puzzled.
Rock raised an eyebrow, "I think you know him as Harriet Tubman."
Dream's eyes widened in understanding, "Oh yes, the cock sucker…. What about him?"
Rock struggled to contain his anger, "... Caster's clan is pulling strings to get you deemed as a threat, you showed them that Legacy Clans are not that invincible. A mere outskirt rat beating a highly trained legacy? — that pissed them off.
"And this… incident you've caused? That's all they need to get rid of a threat."
Dream nodded in understanding.
"Now, I've been able to hold them off. But if you push any further, I will not be able to protect you."
"I understand. I won't cause any more trouble," Dream whispered before walking out.
…
The rest of the day passed normally. The tracking and hunting class went exactly how Dream imagined.
Footprints this, traces that. Blah blah. On another note, he learned how to identify creatures from their shit, truly an unpleasant experience.
He also had a match up with Neph — a peak fight.
An autistic blowtorch vs a slightly crippled man who had to hold back considerably.
A match up of the ages.
It ended in the way everyone expected — Neph utterly defeated him.
Well it made sense, Dream couldn't shift his weight, had to hold back so as to not injure her, all while his back hurt like crazy.
If he decided to use his Aspect, it would've turned out different but Dream didn't want to increase his chances on getting schizophrenia for looking cool.
Ah, his flaw was truly shitty.
There couldn't be anything worse than this.
But, due to this one loss, people from the Academy started considering putting him on the fraud list as a potential bum, just because he lost one fight.
People were truly ruthless.
He had defeated a Fallen Beast in single combat, brought his army to victory, ascended to the rank of General from a mere foot soldier, defeated a highly trained legacy and ran a fade against 5 people and won!
All that just to be put as a potential fraud because he lost to a mute girl who was potential autistic.
As they say, beat an autistic person, you're a villain. Lose against a autistic person and you're a fraud.
Oh, the turned tables.
