The Magivore leaps towards Seth.
He barely has time to react.
His Armament flashes, producing a faint barrier around his body, but he knows it won't be enough to withstand the creature's attack. He instinctively raises his arms and braces himself.
However, the expected impact never comes.
A figure suddenly appears between them.
A sharp gust of wind sweeps through the chamber, followed by a flash of light. The Magivore's body is thrown sideways, crashing into the rocky wall with enough force to shake the surrounding cave.
Seth stares at the newcomer.
"Javier?"
….
"Are you injured?" I glance at Seth, a small sigh escaping my lips.
Somehow, this encounter reminds me of that unfortunate incident that happened with Professor Alaric Duskryn when we were both students in the Academy.
I had saved him back then as well…
"N-No. I'm fine."
"Good. Stay behind me." I mutter before turning towards the Magivore.
