The Magivores charge down the slope with terrifying speed.
"Hold your positions!"
The leader's subordinate shouts as the Variants prepare to receive the incoming horde.
The first creatures to arrive are several large wolves with grey fur and sharp horns protruding from their heads. They leap towards the formation, but thick stone pillars suddenly rise from the ground, stopping their advance.
"Now!"
Several Variants attack simultaneously.
A man with scales covering his arms swings a heavy club into one of the wolves, crushing its skull. Another releases a burst of compressed air, sending two creatures tumbling down the slope.
However, the horde does not slow down.
More Magivores emerge from the forest. Some are quadrupedal, while others move on two legs. A few even take to the air, spreading their wings as they dive towards the Variants.
"Watch the skies!"
