Chapter 1 - Buckle 1 will make you a horse girl

In a dimly lit room, a scruffy man shouted with excitement.

On the computer screen before him, the familiar server lottery interface flickered to life. But something was different this time. As the virtual book opened, a vibrant support card appeared, accompanied by a glowing white note.

"Buckle 1 is to turn you into a horse racing girl? What the heck—is this some kind of official Easter egg?"

He rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

"Let's see what happens…"

Unable to resist his curiosity, he tapped the keyboard. A blinding flash of white light engulfed him.

"Whoa—this is real!"

The light faded. The man vanished from the room.

When she regained consciousness, the familiar surroundings were gone. Darkness enveloped her.

"Hiss..Wait..am I a reincarnated protagonist now..?"

Now a glowing orb of light, she nodded with joy.

"I hope I get a pair of strong legs this time… so I can walk and run like everyone else."

As her wish echoed, another burst of white light flashed. Three radiant phantoms emerged—gold, red, and blue.

"That color scheme… it's just like the Three Goddess from the game!"

Before she could think further, her vision dimmed again.

"Where… am I?"

A soft, delicate voice whispered from a cardboard box. Inside sat a horse girl with a pink-and-white gradient mane—Peach Waves.

"An alley?"

Street noise buzzed nearby. Turning her head, Peach Waves spotted a neon sign with a poster of Rudolf Symboli.

"That's… the Emperor?!"

Her icy-blue eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Wait… what's up with my voice?"

She glanced down at her shabby white dress and the pink strands of hair falling over her shoulders.

"No way… did I really become a horse girl?"

Carefully stepping out of the box, she nearly stumbled. Grabbing the wall for support, she took a few shaky steps. The gritty dust beneath her feet wasn't pleasant, but the sensation of walking again brought tears to her eyes.

"I… I can walk again!"

She looked down at her healthy legs, overwhelmed with joy.

On the box was a white note:

Name: Peach Waves. Please take in. Thank you.

Her lips curled into a bittersweet smile.

"So… my name is Peach Waves. Looks like I've been abandoned..."

Just then, an iron door creaked open behind her. Turning around, she saw an old man holding a garbage bag. He hadn't expected to find a little horse girl beside the bin.

His clothes were worn, his face weathered. Slowly, he approached, placed the bag down, and knelt beside her.

"Little one… why are you here?"

His rough but warm hand gently patted her head. Peach Waves lowered her gaze, silent.

The old man glanced at the box.

"A horse girl no one wanted… how heartbreaking. If you don't mind living with an old man, you're welcome to stay."

Her eyes lit up. She looked up at him, hopeful.

"Really?"

Her stomach growled loudly.

"Haha… you must be starving. There's leftover food in the shop. Come on, let's get you fed."

He scooped her up and carried her through the iron door. Though she felt awkward being held, Peach Waves stayed still, her eyes wide with curiosity.

Inside was a cozy restaurant bustling with diners. The old man wore a chef's uniform—no wonder the place smelled amazing.

In the kitchen, a younger chef looked up.

"Senior Longjing, who's this horse girl?"

"Found her by the trash. Poor thing was abandoned. I'm taking her in."

"Tian Si, hold the fort. I'll take the little one upstairs to clean up."

"Yes, senior."

Upstairs, the decor was simple but warm. Longjing placed Peach Waves on a light green sofa, then entered a room with a pink door and returned with a few small outfits.

"These belonged to my granddaughter. Let's see if they fit."

Peach Waves held the clothes, then asked softly:

"Where's she now grandpa?"

Longjing paused, a faint sadness in his smile.

"She went far away, little one. Don't worry. You change first—I'll get you something to eat."

He left quietly. Peach Waves watched his retreating figure, her heart heavy with guilt.

"He's hurting… but still chose to care for me."

She changed into a cartoon-style white vest and skirt, then sat on the couch, not wanting to dirty the floor with her bare feet.

"I thought I'd live in misery forever… but now I'm a horse girl and someone kind took me in."

"Most importantly… I have strong legs again."

Soon, Grandpa Longjing returned with a steaming bowl of rice.

"Here you go—eat while it's hot."

The aroma made her eyes sparkle.

"Thank you, Grandpa!"

She devoured the bowl in minutes. Longjing, returning from the bathroom, chuckled.

"I've got to head back to work. The bath's ready—can you manage on your own?"

Peach Waves nodded confidently.

"No problem, Grandpa. I've got this!"

"That's my little wave—so awesome!"
