Eric looks pale and very tired. I immediately come up to him, putting my hand under his chin so he'll look at me. His eyes are watery and his skin is flushed.
"I think we might want to finish this conversation later today." I don't take my eyes off of Eric, carefully looking to see how poorly he is really feeling.
"I think that is a good idea." Evie puts her hand on Eric's shoulder and he looks at her, trying to smile. "Please rest. There is a lot of pressure on you and you'll have a very important day in two days. You need to look the best you can."
He nods as he leans against me. Then he looks at the others in the room. "I'm sorry for cutting this short." His voice wavers.
Everyone in the room looks at him, even Elias looks up from his phone.
I can see the worry in their eyes, the way they automatically turn to him, wanting to protect him as much as I do.
