Alex Rivers soared through the sky at supersonic speeds, a sonic boom trailing in her wake as she streaked across the heavens like a meteor. At Mach 4, she reached her destination in just 22 seconds.
Landing on the roof of a runaway train, Alex used her X-ray vision to spot a man inside with a time bomb strapped to him, the countdown nearing its end. She tore open the train car roof and leaped inside.
"Is this guy crazy?" Alex muttered, grabbing the man and rocketing into the sky. With just a second left on the bomb's timer, she hurled him tens of thousands of meters upward.
"Boom..."
After the explosion, Alex flew back over the train. Her X-ray vision revealed the train's driving system was broken and unable to stop. Determined, she flew to the front of the train, pressed her hands against the locomotive, and gradually brought it to a halt.
Passengers were initially stunned but soon erupted in cheers.
"There really are superheroes in the world!"
"A superhero saved us!"
"Quick, take a picture!"
"So valiant, so cool!"
"Goddess!!!"
"Ding! Congratulations, Host, you have gained 2,548 points of Prestige," the System chimed in her mind. "Reminder: Prestige can be used to purchase items from the System Store."
Some passengers pulled out their phones to capture the moment. While grateful for their survival, they were also in awe of Alex.
Floating quietly in the air, Alex wore her suit provided by the System: a blue bodysuit, red skirt, red cape, black stockings, and red boots—the attire of a Superwoman, making her appear like a goddess.
With a flourish, Alex used her flight to inscribe "Supergirl" on the ground below before soaring into the sky.
"Ding! Congratulations, Host, you have completed the first Newbie Task, gaining 50,000 points. Points can be used to travel between different worlds and can be earned by winning battles."
"Reward received: Supergirl's battle suit has been upgraded to a high-tech nano battle suit. It can transform into any clothing style, and its defense always follows the Host," the System announced.
Alex felt the change in her battle suit, experimenting by changing into a men's suit.
"Reminder, Host, if you do not fight in the Supergirl outfit, you will not receive System rewards," the System mentioned.
"..."
"System, you have a problem," Alex muttered, switching back to her Supergirl outfit.
She tugged at the elastic, high-quality black stockings. "These are pretty good. Bullets definitely won't break them."
Since Alex hadn't hidden herself, Director Nick Fury and his agents were already aware of her rescue and whereabouts.
"Director, should we go and apprehend her now?" an agent inquired.
"This matter requires careful consideration," Director Nick Fury pondered, adding, "How do we apprehend her? Can you fly?"
Near S.H.I.E.L.D., a loud bang echoed as Alex landed.
Natasha, walking by, was startled when Alex descended and landed nearby.
Boom!!!
The ground cracked from the impact.
"Oh no, an earthquake, an earthquake!"
"Run!"
Nearby agents assumed it was a natural disaster and fled in panic.
Natasha, catching sight of Alex, rolled her eyes. "Can't you land a little lighter? You've caused an earthquake."
Alex, controlling her nano suit to change into a dress, apologized, "Sorry, I haven't learned to control my strength yet."
"Anyway, it's not my salary that's paying for the repairs; Director Fury is going to have a headache," Natasha muttered.
"Oh, right. Since Director Fury is paying for the repairs, I don't feel bad at all," Alex shrugged, unconcerned.
Director Fury approached, handing Alex documents and a bank card. "These are for you. Find a place to live on your own. You seem friendly, and I believe you can live independently."
"You're just a girl; how can you be so destructive?" Fury thought, sending her away to avoid further damage.
"Sigh! I've only been here one day, and you're already making me, an alien wanderer, fend for myself," Alex feigned a pitiful expression, secretly amused.
Fury, recognizing her strength, decided not to keep her around to avoid any more damage to S.H.I.E.L.D.
"Natasha, escort Miss Rivers out," Fury instructed.
Taking Natasha's hand, Alex added, "Oh, by the way, Director, your organization's name is too long. Why not change it to S.H.I.E.L.D.?" she suggested with a smile. "Or maybe 'Snake Shield Agency.'"
"Natasha, let's go!" Alex protected Natasha with her bio-field and took off into the sky.
Natasha: "Hey... shouldn't I be seeing you out? Why are you taking me flying directly?"
Fury watched helplessly as Natasha was whisked away: "...Natasha is my subordinate. What are you doing with her?"
Before Natasha could react, they were airborne, the ground swiftly shrinking below them.
"Han Qiuya, flying so fast in the air, my body isn't feeling any pressure," Natasha marveled, speaking normally despite their speed.
"This is my superpower, the bio-field. I'm protecting you with it," Alex explained. "Oh, right, where do you live?"
"We're flying too fast; we've already passed it! Fly back!"
In no time, Alex and Natasha landed on Natasha's balcony, this time gently, without damage. Stepping inside, Alex made herself at home.
"Alex, you really are a natural at making yourself at home," Natasha remarked with a helpless smile, going to tidy up.
Natasha felt for Alex, who, like herself, had no relatives. With her planet destroyed, Alex had come to Earth alone, surely harboring loneliness.
Alex temporarily stayed with Natasha but soon acquired enough money to buy her own villain .
