Naruto: Reviving the Fourth Hokage from the Start

=============

By the next morning, the news had spread to every corner of the village: the Fourth Hokage had returned from death, executed Konoha's tumor Danzo in public, and forced the two elder advisors to step down.

With awe and excitement tangled in their hearts, villagers and shinobi once more gathered of their own accord in the plaza beneath the Hokage Rock.

They waited.

They waited to see what future the returning hero would bring to Konoha.

They didn't wait long.

When the sun climbed to its zenith, four figures appeared atop the Hokage Rock.

At their head stood Minato in his divine robe, Naruto in his arms. Gentle yet resolute, he stood upon his own carved face and looked down over the village.

When the crowd saw the two figures beside him, the plaza instantly erupted; many couldn't hold back their tears. Another beloved figure in their hearts had returned.

"Th-that's…"

"Red hair… it's Lady Kushina!"

"Heavens—Uzumaki Kushina… she… she's alive?!"

At Minato's side stood a stunning woman with flame-red hair.

Konoha's "Crimson Pepper," the former Nine-Tails jinchuriki—Kushina!

There was no trace of a dying woman about her now. Her cheeks were rosy, her spirit bright, her life force overflowing—she looked like she could take on ten at once. Her beautiful violet eyes watched the villagers below with a gentle light.

If Minato's return yesterday was a miracle that shook every heart—

Then Kushina's safe restoration today was the undeniable, second proof of that miracle.

Two people who should have died had come back in peak condition, back-to-back.

This could no longer be explained by common sense.

The way people looked at Minato changed completely.

It was no longer merely the adoration owed a hero, but the reverence due a god. To achieve all this went beyond human reach; it could only be the power of heaven.

They began to believe that the Fourth truly bore destiny—that he was under divine protection.

And standing beside Kushina was a black-haired boy who looked five or six, thin and fragile.

Shinju.

He stood quietly, face blank before the gaze of thousands, as if none of this had anything to do with him.

That unruffled air formed an eerie yet harmonious contrast with the thunderstruck scene around him.

Among the senior ranks, Hiruzen watched the reunited family of four, bitterness written plainly on his face. He was grateful he had yielded yesterday—how wise that choice had been. To clash head-on would only have ended badly. For all his titles—the "Professor," master of many chakra natures—even he might not stand against the Fourth. Before absolute speed—no, before the near-spatial power of Hiraishin—such things counted for little.

Jiraiya, by contrast, smiled with unguarded relief. Seeing his student and sister-in-law whole and together again—this was his dearest wish.

Minato took in every reaction below.

He cleared his throat and carried his voice on chakra so it would reach every ear.

"Good morning, people of Konoha."

The plaza fell silent at once.

"I know your hearts are full of questions. About my return, and Kushina's—my apologies, I can't explain it. I can only tell you this: we are back, and we will protect this village—always."

He didn't try to spin a story. He chose the plainest declaration.

That unquestionable tone only made it more convincing.

"Yesterday, I cleared out the worms and removed the negligent advisors. But that doesn't mean I intend to sit in the Hokage's chair again."

An uproar rolled through the crowd.

Not Hokage?

Why?

No one could understand.

Hiruzen and Jiraiya both stared, taken aback.

Minato ignored the surprise and went on. "The Nine-Tails disaster exposed many flaws in Konoha's present system. The burden on the Hokage is too heavy. One person cannot carry an entire village."

"Konoha needs a new leader—and a healthier structure. The next Hokage will be chosen by a vote of all jonin."

A decision heavy enough to reshape Konoha's landscape.

Unprecedented.

In Nara Shikaku's eyes, a sharp light flashed. He instantly grasped Minato's intent.

Minato didn't want the seat.

He wanted to found something that would stand above it—an absolutely powerful Namikaze clan.

What a move.

Minato's next words confirmed it.

"I may not be Hokage," his voice rang solemn and strong, "but I will guard Konoha in another role."

"From this day, I, Namikaze Minato, formally rebuild the Namikaze clan!"

"As clan head, I will lead my family to be Konoha's strongest shield—and its sharpest spear!"

To rebuild the Namikaze and protect the village as clan chief—

The weight of that vow was greater by far than announcing a return to the Hokage's office.

It meant a super-clan would be born in Konoha, anchored by two peak Kage-class powers.

A clan no longer under the Hokage's direct hand, but coexisting with the village as its "guardian."

Its very existence would be a supreme authority of Konoha.

Everyone was thunderstruck by the scale of Minato's design.

And he wasn't finished.

Under every eye, he did something no one expected.

He extended a hand and gently guided the silent Shinju forward—

To the very edge of the Hokage Rock, the point of greatest attention.

Pride and joy warmed Minato's face.

He set a hand on Shinju's thin shoulder and, in the most solemn voice of his life, proclaimed to all of Konoha:

"Now, allow me to introduce the child beside me—"

"My firstborn, Shinju Namikaze."

"The one who pulled Kushina and me from the depths of death—our family's savior."

"The nameless hero who brought new life to Konoha by his own power, asking nothing in return."

"From today, he is the Namikaze's first in line to inherit."

Firstborn.

Savior.

Nameless hero.

First heir.

The plaza exploded.

Every gaze locked onto the black-haired boy.

This ordinary-looking, even frail child was the source of all these miracles?

He revived the Fourth and Lady Kushina?

He saved Konoha?

Impossible—

Except the words had come from Minato's own mouth.

No one would think a hero returned from death would joke about such things.

In an instant, the name and face of Shinju were branded into every mind present.

He became Konoha's most mysterious—and most revered—existence.

Facing thousands of complicated gazes, this grand ceremony that he himself had set in motion—and that now placed him upon a pedestal—

Shinju's expression did not change.

He simply accepted their attention in silence.

From this moment on, he was no longer the child abandoned to an orphanage by his clan, shivering through cold nights.

He—Shinju—was the young lord of the Namikaze, the first family of the shinobi world.

The maker—and the power behind—every legend to come.
