Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 – The Blood Elf and the Dragon Lich

Anna only had three Traits: [Loyal Servant of the Heim Family] (Black), [Professional Maid] (White),

and [Half-Elven Bloodline] (Purple).

That's right—little Anna actually possessed the legendary elven lineage.

Hel recalled fragments of memory related to Sebas's daughter-in-law.

As far as he remembered, she had been nothing more than an ordinary village woman.

Which meant…

Hiss—

Old Sebas had been that wild in his younger years?

He even managed to… with an elf girl?

Hel shook his head, banishing the stray thought.

Now wasn't the time for gossip—he had to revive Anna first.

Having already gained experience from transforming Lily,

Hel now worked on Anna with ease.

Before long, she too possessed four new Traits—

though they differed considerably from Lily's due to various factors.

Her [Death Magic Affinity] was only green quality,

and even her bloodline Trait was just blue.

Fortunately, Hel still had the orange-quality bloodline Trait that Lily had replaced earlier.

But just as he was about to equip it onto Anna,

her Elven Bloodline and the new Vampiric Bloodline Traits both began to flicker,

as if they were about to vanish entirely.

"What's this…" Hel muttered in confusion.

Then a system prompt appeared before him:

[The follower's newly obtained bloodline Trait is too low in quality to overwrite the existing one.]

Unable to overwrite?

Hel suddenly recalled—this was exactly what happened when he equipped Lily with the Vampire Queen Trait.

But Anna was supposed to become a vampire this time.

Would the transformation fail because the bloodline quality was too low?

Another prompt appeared:

[Detected bloodline conflict in follower. Trait fusion is recommended.]

[Current suggested fusion formula:]

[Half-Elven Bloodline (Purple)] + [Intermediate Vampire (Blue)] + [Advanced Bloodkin (Orange)] = [Unknown Bloodline (Orange)]

[Note: This formula is most compatible with the follower's physique.]

An Unknown Bloodline?

And it was only orange quality—plus, it would consume an orange Trait in the process.

But what choice did Hel have? Letting the transformation fail wasn't an option.

Following the system's instructions, he quickly dragged the necessary Traits into the fusion slot.

After a brief animation sequence, a new Trait appeared before his eyes:

[Blood Elf (Orange)]: Magic +100%, Charm +70, Magic +20% at night, Magic -20% during the day.

Not bad at all—an extremely powerful Trait.

If the Vampire Queen Trait was a born ruler's Trait,

then this one was that of an explosive caster.

Hel decided that Anna could be trained in that direction later on.

But for now, she was still too weak, with only a few available Trait slots.

So Hel simply replaced her talent Trait with a better one,

added Breath Concealment, and removed Bloodthirst.

The black-quality Bloodthirst Trait's downside was too severe—

if the host didn't drink blood, they would go insane. Definitely not worth keeping.

After finishing Anna's transformation, Hel moved on to revive Sebas according to plan.

Among high-tier undead, there were several species capable of disguising themselves as humans.

In the end, Hel chose the one most suited to Sebas—

a Lich.

As expected, Sebas's power level, like Arwen's, stabilized at Tier 3 Peak,

just short of stepping into Tier 4.

But once again, the system prompted him:

[Fusion Option Detected]

[High Lich (Purple)] + [Dragon Bloodline (Gold)] = [Unknown Bloodline (Gold)]

Numerically, fusing one purple and one gold Trait for a single gold one was a loss.

However, after seeing the results of the Blood Elf fusion,

Hel trusted that the system's fusion formulas were always optimal for his followers.

"Fuse."

The result appeared:

[Dragon Lich (Gold)]: Magic +120%, Charm +50, Can transform into a dragon for battle, temporarily gaining +30% Magic.

The Trait didn't disappoint.

Compared to the original Dragon Bloodline, which balanced strength, magic, and charm,

this new Dragon Lich Trait was clearly optimized for a spellcaster.

Sebas's Magic stat soared to an impressive 117—

only 19 points higher than before, true,

but that was mainly because his [Basic Necromancy] (Green) Trait was still dragging him down.

If he had even a purple-tier spell Trait, his combat power could easily rival Arwen's.

For now, though, that wasn't necessary.

Breath Concealment could mask the death aura within their bodies,

but it didn't hide any released energy.

For instance, if Arwen used Battle Aura Projection, the concealment would fail.

Similarly, if Sebas cast necromancy in front of others, he'd expose himself immediately.

Thus, Sebas could only be used as a hidden trump card—

and one that left no witnesses.

A few minutes later, everyone gathered again around the same round table.

Now, among the ghosts stood an elderly white-haired man and a golden-haired girl.

"Master, dawn is approaching,"

said Sebas respectfully.

"What are your plans? Do you have a course of action in mind?"

As the Heim family's veteran servant—having served through three generations—

Sebas understood the affairs of Heim Territory far better than Hel did.

Hel shook his head, signaling for him to continue.

"The power structure of Heim City is divided among four main factions:

the Noble Council, the Church of Holy Judgment, the Mage Guild, and the Knight Guild.

The Mage and Knight Guilds merely serve as certification institutions—they don't interfere in territorial governance.

As for the Noble Council, as long as we provide a reasonable explanation,

they won't meddle in the affairs of Heim Castle."

Hel couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth.

Yeah, right.

If not for the fact that over half of the corpses in the castle

had black Traits indicating loyalty to various local nobles,

he might've actually believed Sebas.

Still, it wasn't Sebas's fault—

after all, he didn't have a Trait System that could expose spies at a glance.
