Chapter 16 - A business Encounter with my creditor

Beside him was the minor model, Bella.

She, Bella, kept rubbing herself against him with her generous bosom, a sight that is an eyesore.

I could not help suspecting that Micheal's appearance was meant to refute Edwin's rumors.

"Mr. Micheal, you really do jump into the fire to rescue people," Edwin said with a laugh, approaching Micheal with a significant look.

His thoughts were strangely aligned with mine.

Micheal chuckled, neither confirming nor denying.

It seemed that these gossip didn't bother him at all.

His glance, though, turned to me: "Edwin's tastes have been rather mild lately, haven't they?"

Damn it, it was clear that he was implying that I couldn't quite match up to the busty gal beside him!

I gave him a white-eyed, sharp look but ignored him.

I couldn't possibly explain my depth to such a superficial creature!

Edwin looked at me, the corner of his mouth curling into a grin: "Don't just look at the surface.

This little wildcat has sharp claws."

Saying so, he led me to the seat.

I was a bit startled.

Edwin doesn't seem as frivolous as he appeared to be.

At least, he saw through me.

I assumed I had always concealed my personality at the company, but he still noticed it.

"The wildness in a woman is what makes her attractive.

Especially, at certain times…" Micheal said indifferently, with his gaze once again falling on me.

I had a feeling that he had a hidden meaning.

Because his gaze was just too suggestive.

It was as if he was reminding me of what happened that night.

Just thinking about the proposal he offered me that day makes my face heat up.

There are always people in this world who, with a few words, can tug your heartstrings .

Micheal, is certainly one of them.

"Why are you blushing?" Edwin insisted on pouring oil on the fire, even going as far as to ask me such a question in moments like this.

"I'm a bit hot."

I nonchalantly replied and Edwin asked someone to turn on the air conditioner.

"President Edwin is really thoughtful."

Bella remarked sarcastically from the side.

At this point, I'm kind of sure that the gossip news was true.

Even though the photos were blurred, Bella's profile was captured very clearly. Nevertheless, the picture captured her leaning towards a man as she fell.

Hence, it was highly likely that she was rejected by Edwin.

No wonder she spoke with such sarcasm.

Edwin couldn't be bothered with her, occasionally adding dishes to my plate, completely disregarding the looks from others.

The women present continuously shot envious glances at me.

After all, aside from me, it was all the other women who were serving the men.

For my part, I didn't care and contentedly ate and drank.

I was practically penniless and if I don't seize this opportunity for a free meal, I'm afraid I can't survive much longer.

In the end, I seemed to have had a bit too much to drink and felt a growing need to use the restroom.

I looked at the men in the room who had just finished their third round of drinks, feeling somewhat awkward to make a sound.

However, after holding it in for a while, I couldn't help it any longer and stood up from my seat.

At this moment, Micheal, who was sitting across from me, also stood up.

"I'm going to the restroom."

After he spoke, he turned his gaze toward me and jokingly asked, "Together?"

 Go together my foot!

Everyone in the room started to jeer.

"Mr. Micheal, what are you planning to do in the bathroom with this beauty?

I should remind you, she belongs to Mr. Edwin."

"That's right, if you must take someone along, take your model."

Ignoring their jibes, I walked straight out.

I just couldn't hold it in any longer.

A gust of wind blew through the corridor, and my urge to use the restroom surged.

I picked up my pace towards the restroom.

Behind me, however, came the voice of Micheal.

"What is your relationship with Edwin?"
