Chapter 14 - New Home

After asking numerous people along the way, Yang Chen finally arrived at the address listed as Longjingyuan. Upon arrival, Yang Chen fully grasped the immense wealth of his beautiful wife.

Longjingyuan is a suburban upscale villa complex, with each villa at least a mile apart. Surrounded by pavilions, towers, clear water, and greenery, the villas are decorated in a classical European style, exuding a rich, luxurious elegance.

The security guards at the gate were puzzled upon seeing Yang Chen's unfamiliar face, curious how a wealthy person could walk in. However, upon seeing his expensive suit, they didn't bother him, saving Yang Chen much effort in explaining himself.

After entering Longjingyuan, Yang Chen walked over two kilometers before reaching Villa No. 89, listed as the address. The entire villa covered over 400 square meters, not counting the outdoor swimming pool and massive parking garage. Constructed of heavy marble, the Baroque-style villa was built with immense construction, and it was hard to imagine the expense of such a property. After ringing the doorbell, the exquisitely carved mahogany door quickly opened. A woman in casual clothes and an apron opened the door. Her face bore the slightest trace of age, but she had been well-maintained, looking neither forty nor fifty years old. Seeing Yang Chen, her eyes lit up with joy as she said enthusiastically, "Young Master, right? Young Master told me you'd be coming today. Come in quickly."

Seeing that the woman wasn't shy at all, Yang Chen relaxed a bit. Smiling, he entered and asked, "What's your name, Big Sister?"

"My name is Wang Yulan. Just call me Auntie Wang," Auntie said with a beaming smile. "How can you call me Big Sister, Young Master? I watched Young Master grow up. Calling me Auntie is more appropriate."

"Auntie Wang doesn't look old at all. She'll definitely charm a lot of men walking down the street," Yang Chen said sincerely. No woman dislikes being complimented on her beauty, and Wang Ma, a middle-aged woman, was no exception. She was even happier after hearing this. After inviting Yang Chen to sit down, she said with a cheerful smile, "Sir, please sit down for a moment. I'm almost done in the kitchen and will be welcoming you soon. It's a pity that Miss has a meeting and won't have time to come back."

"Wang Ma, are you and Lin...oh, Ruoxi the only ones living in this house?" Yang Chen looked around. The villa consisted of three floors, fully equipped with modern appliances, white leather sofas, black marble floors, mahogany furniture, tables and chairs. Several large and small paintings by famous artists hung on the walls, and a few blooming orchids swayed by the windows, creating a simple yet elegant atmosphere. Looking out at the large doors on the second and third floors, Yang Chen felt a sense of spaciousness. Mother Wang sighed somewhat sadly, "That's right. It's so lonely living here with just the two of us women. And Miss is busy with work and away all day, so I'm usually the only one looking after this huge house. But now it's good. Miss now has you, my son-in-law. We now have a man in the family. That's what makes a family proper."

Seeing Mother Wang's satisfied look, Yang Chen couldn't help but ask curiously, "Madam Wang, don't you find it strange that Ruoxi is suddenly marrying me?"

"Hehe," Mother Wang smiled and said, "My son-in-law, I've watched Miss grow up. She's never had a boyfriend since she was little. There are many men out there chasing after our Miss, but our Miss hasn't been attracted to any of them. But now that she's marrying you, you must be different. Miss is so smart, I trust her judgment. What's so strange about that?"

Yang Chen nodded in understanding, but he was still grumbling in his heart. Mother Wang could never have guessed that he and Lin Ruoxi were in a contract marriage. After a hearty lunch, Yang Chen burped contentedly, rubbing his round belly and smiling, "Auntie Wang's cooking is amazing. This tastes much better than anything in those big restaurants."

Auntie Wang's eyebrows lit up, "Really? Then, Master, eat more often at home from now on. My dear, you often have to deal with something and don't come home. It's a shame to throw away the food I cook."

"That girl is a wasteful person. Don't bother with her. Master, just give me something delicious to eat from now on." Yang Chen patted his chest.

Auntie Wang knew Yang Chen was joking, and nodded happily, agreeing.

After cleaning up, Master Wang took off her apron and said, "Master, I'll show you your bedroom. If there's anything you need, just let me know and I'll get it for you."

"My bedroom?" Yang Chen was stunned, then he remembered that he had promised not to sleep with Lin Ruoxi. As Aunt Wang led the way, she said, "Sir, the young lady has been very thoughtful of you. She said you're used to sleeping alone, so she specially prepared a large, separate room for you. She also bought you a lot of clothes to put in it."

"Really? Hmm... Ruoxi is quite thoughtful." Yang Chen rubbed his nose, even thinking it was a lie.

"That's right. I've never seen the young lady so attentive to a man. Also, the young lady said you're busy with work right now, so let's get married first and have the wedding banquet later when we have time. She's thinking of you." Aunt Wang said with a smile.

Yang Chen, however, was sweating profusely. What was going on? It turned out that the girl had already given Aunt Wang a heads-up and was pushing everything onto him. What could be so busy selling lamb skewers? Entering his room, Yang Chen was somewhat surprised. It was indeed surprisingly large, even larger than the entire small apartment he rented. White veils danced gracefully by the floor-to-ceiling windows. A low, king-sized bed, a 42-inch Sony LED TV, an Apple computer next to the bed, a classically decorated table lamp, and lustrous, textured wooden floors. Gazing into the corner, he saw a massive, two-layer wardrobe filled with brand new clothes, ties, and leather shoes.

Yang Chen smiled knowingly. It seemed his beautiful wife hadn't treated him badly, having prepared all her acting ensembles.

"How's it going, son-in-law? Are you satisfied?" Wang Ma asked enthusiastically.

"Satisfied, of course I am. It's much better than I expected. Thank you, Wang Ma." Yang Chen nodded.

"Thank you, Miss. I'm just running an errand or something." Wang Ma had already begun enthusiastically trying to match the young couple's relationship. Yang Chen knew what Wang Ma was thinking but didn't point it out. "Wang Ma, I have some things at my old place. I need to go get them. I'm going out first."

"That's only natural. There are always some things you get used to."

"But..." Yang Chen smiled awkwardly. "Wang Ma, is there any means of transportation at home? If you don't have a car, a bicycle will do. That'll help me get there faster."

Wang Ma glanced at Yang Chen in surprise, as if she had witnessed something incredibly terrifying. "Uncle, could it be that you walked here?"

"Unfortunately, you guessed it right, Wang Ma." Yang Chen spread his hands.

Wang Ma didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "That young lady is right. How could you let Uncle walk here? Uncle, you can't be so casual living here from now on. You need a car. Uncle, come with me. We have a few cars sitting idle. Just drive one."

Yang Chen's eyes lit up. He had been itching to get one when he saw Lin Ruoxi driving a Bentley Elegance before, but he didn't have the money to buy one, so he'd always been envious. Could he possibly get one for free now?
