Chapter 10 - Chapter 10- The end

As the ship touched down before the Denver Smith household, the smoke from its descent dissipated, revealing the house still standing. Charlie felt relieved at the sight, but a nagging thought crept into his mind- what if one of his siblings had perished during the ordeal?

Charlie and James checked each room to ensure all their siblings were present. Charlie accidentally opened the door when Nate, the eldest, was changing. "Sorry, Nate," Charlie stuttered, closing the door. "Knock next time," Nate said through the door. Afterward, they made their way downstairs to the great room, having found everyone except one. "Wait, where's David?" Charlie asked, then rushed outside to search.

James raised his arms over his face and stated, " We need to bring Samuel and Sam together in the same room since we don't have Sam on our side." Just as Charlie uttered "Speak of the devil," Sam emerged from his tower, marching toward them. Sam Corp attempted to attack the town that David's deamos defense force was defending.

"I told them to take him out first" Sam mumbled to himself. Sam stupidly came right up to the pair. Charlie karate chopped him in the back of the neck and James kneed him in the stomach. They tied Sam up so he would not run off.

In an unexpected turn of events, Samuel, the presumed clone of Sam, assisted the forces in resisting Sam Corp's influence. Upon encountering Charlie, a familiar face, Samuel's resolve wavered. "I want to assist," Samuel admitted. Charlie, understanding the situation, responded, "Come with us then." Samuel was escorted to a room with a glass window, where he was placed under observation. While James lacked a deep understanding of Samuel, Charlie possessed a closer connection.

"What do you want me to do?" Samuel asked, his confusion evident in his expression as he glanced at his conscience Sam. Charlie, with a tinge of sadness in his voice, replied, "You must confront Sam, my friend." Samuel looked down at the ground, his voice laced with self-doubt, "I don't know if I can. I fear I am nothing but a coward." Charlie spoke, his words carrying encouragement, "You are no coward, Samuel. You possess emotions and love deeply. You are my true father." Samuel's head lifted, a hint of a smile appearing on his face as he said, "I have an idea." His small smile conveyed a sense of reassurance, as if to say that everything would be alright.

His expression swiftly shifted into a dark and sour frown, an expression Charlie had never witnessed before. No matter the situation, Samuel always maintained a composed demeanor, never displaying extreme sadness or rage. However, in this instant, his face contorted with a mix of anger and resentment. "Did you genuinely believe that by eliminating me, you could secure your salvation?" Samuel's words were laced with venom, his eyes blazing with fury. He grasped Sam by the throat, his grip tightening with each passing moment. "Don't! I refuse to be merged with you. I despise you. I didn't fight with you so I can get cut out, only for you to take this body back!" Sam's demeanor took on an even more sinister and malevolent aspect than it usually possessed.

A throng of spirits infused Samuel's body, causing him to emanate an ethereal radiance, even overtaking the wicked spirit known as Sam. A peculiar sight to behold, Samuel's face bore a smile while tears streamed down his cheeks. His mind was flooded with memories of the evil acts committed by Sam, driving him to the brink of madness. He screamed in agony, clutching the sides of his head, before everything dissolved into the consuming darkness.

As Samuel lay there, he released the grip on the lifeless body purporting to be his real self. Before darkness enveloped him, Samuel recalled Charlie's words, affirming that he was no coward and confirming his true paternity. With his final breath, Samuel uttered Charlie's name, his voice fading as he slipped away.

In the room, James and Charlie stood, their eyes wide with wonder and doubt about whether they had made the right decision. As the two boys entered, Charlie checked Samuel's pulse, only to find that he had none. The situation was no different for the evil Sam as James conducted a similar examination. With this grim discovery, Charlie took the deceased Sam to Sam Corp, intent on revealing the truth. "Your leader is dead," Charlie proclaimed loudly. "It is time to surrender." Nearby, the other Sam lay motionless on a blanket spread out on the ground.

With a gasp like the breath had been forcibly taken from his body, Samuel sat up in a zombie-like state. Growling and grunting like an animal, he displayed a terrifying behavior. His daughter, frightened by his actions, expressed her fear. This triggered Samuel to unleash an attack on all the Sam Corp employees, sending them scurrying towards the building. In a relentless pursuit, he chased them inside, causing significant damage to the building in his wake.

After a period of time had elapsed, Samuel's behavior necessitated his capture. In order to subdue him, they had to administer medication, which eventually induced a state of slumber in him.

Awakening with a start, Sam was alarmed to discover that, despite his efforts, he had remained the same. He went into the living room where his children were gathered. Most of them found it hard to believe that he was their biological father. David held a peculiar blue orb in a jar. Sumi, descending the stairs, approached his father and began rubbing against his leg affectionately. "You're so adorable. Are you hungry?" Sam remarked as he carefully picked up Sumi, embracing him and then proceeding to the refrigerator. "What would you like?" Sam inquired, glancing down at the cat tinomi, with a distinctive braid. He was struck by the resemblance between the boy and his younger self.

A knock on the door startled Sam. He attempted to answer it, eager to showcase his newfound kindness. However, Charlie, David, James, and Devin quickly intervened. "That might not be a wise decision," James advised as Devin cautiously opened the door. Sam then dropped to his knees beside his son, peered into the refrigerator, and inquired about his preferences. "Onion," Sumi replied, gazing up at him. Suddenly, Kobito burst into the house, startling Sam. Sam's brother's white hair left him momentarily puzzled, unable to identify him. "Who are you?" Sam inquired, tilting his head back in confusion. Charlie stepped in to explain, "he has Animeasa". "I created the Chaos Orb when I was younger but lost it. It cannot be killed, or it will result in the destruction of the world," Sam explained, holding the jar in his hands.

Sam almost dropped the jar but then quickly remembered that it needed air. "Maybe some air holes," Sumi suggested. "That could be a viable solution," Sam remarked as he regarded the chao orb. "But be careful, spirits can slip through small spaces," Willow warned. Sam acknowledged this and proceeded to create a mesh container to prevent the chao orb from escaping. David then enhanced the security by adding a force field around the container. Sam's memories of the incident were hazy since he wasn't physically present, but certain fragments remained clear in his mind.

Sam wanted to help the poor district."Oh by the way I know it is sad but your family is all dead. They died in a fire that destroyed your old home but Kobito rebuilt it." Charlie disclosed. "That place was leveled, there is nothing left, everyone is dead.so there is nothing we can do." James lamented. "We can bring them back to life." David said. "Can we?" Kobito asked, confused. "We can try." David said.

Justin, instructed by the supreme deity, arrived in front of them. With a hint of sadness in his eyes, he delivered unexpected news. "I have unfortunate news for you all," Justin said. Devin interrupted, "Are you going to inform us that Chaos must be returned to his mind?" Justin corrected him, "No, I was about to convey that there is no need to reconstruct the poor district. The supreme deity desires only Chaos." Initially filled with sadness, Justin's expression transformed into a smile. Kobito, clutching something tightly in his fist, eagerly inquired, "Does this imply that my wife is now alive?"

""Why would the god of gods desire chaos?" said a wary voice. Justin informed them that the god had promised each of them one wish if they gave him the orb. And so, they offered him chaos.

Although everyone received their wish, Sam's desire for numerous wishes prompted his daughter, Willow, to intervene and make a wish for him to have unlimited wishes. Subsequently, they all found themselves suspended in a hazy, dreamlike realm. "I wish I could start over, but with all of you by my side," Sam uttered, choking back tears. "It's alright, Father," Willow reassured him, reaching out to gently caress his face.

Sam longed for the opportunity to raise all of his children and witness their growth. He yearned to fulfill the role of a responsible and nurturing father to each and every one of them. In his heart, he wished that the Sam star across the street would bring about a positive change, ensuring that things would be different and better this time around.

As the sun's rays gently danced in Sam's eyes, he slowly woke up to find Devin right beside him. Devin's hand rested on Sam's chest, and a radiant, beautiful ring adorned his finger. "Wow, what a beautiful ring," Sam whispered, careful not to disturb his sleeping lover. "Sam, hmm, it is your turn," Devin said, softly tugging on his shirt. Sam got up to investigate, prompted by the sound of a commotion in the living room. However, when he entered the room, he witnessed a strange occurrence—echoes from the future that quickly faded away.

Entering the room, Sam was surprised to find a bassinet with a baby in it. "Devin, what's going on?" he asked, lifting the baby boy with light brown hair gently into his arms. The baby opened his eyes, revealing bright blue ones that locked with his father's gaze. "He's our son," Devin responded, rolling over and placing his feet on the ground to stand up. "Have we named him yet?" Sam inquired, smiling affectionately. "Just born, so not yet," Devin replied while stretching. Sam then suggested, "Can we name him Nate?" glancing at Devin with a hopeful expression. "Sure, we can, honey," Devin agreed. With that, Sam leaned in and tenderly kissed both Devin and their newborn son.

Twelve years passed, and Devin was about to give birth. The pain was immense. "It hurts," Devin informed Sam, who was preparing to rush them to the hospital. Unexpectedly, Willow, who was present, swiftly and skillfully delivered the baby. Sam, astounded, questioned why she had taken such drastic action when he intended to take Devin to the hospital. Willow calmly explained that the process would have taken too long and required surgery. To Sam's astonishment, the newborn had cat ears and a tail. Overwhelmed with joy, Sam called Devin's attention to their extraordinary baby, who also appeared delighted.

Twelve more years had passed, and Sam was finished having children. He had never been particularly fond of Izzy, Michelle, or Liz, but he at least liked Izzy and Michelle; they were kind to him. He now had all the children he desired with his husband and two wives he cherished. This was considered normal in Deamos. Sam was joyful and helpful, genuinely concerned about his children.

Maz visited occasionally. Devin felt remorseful because he had been unfaithful to Sam. "Devin, don't cry," Sam said, striving to console him. "I understand you remember, but it's alright." "No, it's not," Devin said tearfully. "I cheated on you, Sam." "I'm okay with it because he could give you a daughter, and I couldn't," Sam said, kissing the top of Devin's head.

Samuel, alongside his father, Lee, has found fulfillment in his medical career. Each day, upon returning home, he prioritizes spending quality time with his children. He showers them with affection and warmth, ensuring their emotional well-being. Furthermore, when his work schedule allows, Samuel takes the initiative to transport his kids to school, displaying his commitment to their education and well-being. This dedication embodies his long-held aspiration to be the father he envisioned for himself and his family.

Sam, a karate instructor, never coerced his children into activities they disliked. Instead, he imparted valuable lessons on controlling their innate abilities. He believed that mastering one's powers was synonymous with self-mastery. Sam demonstrated his own fire power to his children, emphasizing the importance of harnessing their unique gifts.

"Surely this must be a dream." David uttered this statement while gazing out into the world. As sirens wailed in the distance, a gentle breeze caressed his face, and the warmth of the sun enveloped his skin. Standing atop the roof of the home he once shared with his vibrant, joyful family, he marveled at the moment, wondering how long this surreal tranquility would endure. The world as they knew it had irrevocably changed.
