Pov: Vik
In the bright moonlight, I sit under the big tree where I usually sleep. In front of me, my two disciples, especially Lu Xiaoran, are playing with a cat. It's just a normal black cat with glowing green eyes. I don't understand why the system told me this is an Outer god entity. If you look, there's nothing special about her, other than she's cute. She seems like just a regular female cat.
Vik: "System, can you explain how this small cat is an Outer god entity?"
System: "Host, I don't have an answer. My sensors failed to detect this being's energy level and marked it as an Outer god entity. My sensors can't be wrong."
Vik: "But how can this cute cat be an entity capable of destroying worlds with a thought?"
System: "I don't know, host. There's no information about Outer gods except that no life can survive an encounter with them. Even higher beings that created systems like me avoid them."
Vik: "Yeah, I know that. You've already scared me with all the details about Outer gods. I was almost ready to sacrifice my life to protect this world and my disciples from that unknown entity. And now I see that unknown entity is a black cat. What if I had already teleported with the egg before it hatched? I could have ended up in some outer space, all because of your mistakes."
While I lectured the system, the cat in question ran toward me. When she reached me, she rubbed her head against my leg. Seeing her do this, I felt she was very cute, so I picked her up. Lu Xiaoran soon approached, trying to take the cat from me again, but she refused to leave and started licking my head.
Lu Xiaoran: "Master, I think this cat likes you a lot."
Then Roman joined in and added, "Yes, maybe it's because you're the one who hatched her; she might see you as her parent."
I heard both of their comments, but my focus was on the cute feline sitting on my shoulder and licking my face. I found her adorable. I leaned my head toward her and looked into her glowing green eyes. When she noticed me looking, she meowed at me with a sweet sound.
Meow!!! Meow!!!
Hearing her cute meows made me feel great. I remembered reading that people with cats generally don't get depressed, and I finally understood why. While I contemplated this, Lu Xiaoran's voice brought me back.
Lu Xiaoran: "Master, what name should we give to our new member?"
I realized that I hadn't named the cat yet. Until now, I had only referred to her as "the cat." I started thinking about names and told my disciples to come up with suggestions.
Lu Xiaoran: "Master, I think we should name her Blacky since she is black."
Vik: "Disciple, your naming sense is terrible. Do you think we're racist? Just because she's black doesn't mean we should call her that all the time."
Roman: "Master, I agree with you. I think we should name her Alice."
Vik: "Roman, Alice would be a good name for her, but it's too common. We need to think of something different."
As I chatted with my disciples, I began considering a good name.
System: "Host, you don't have a good sense for names, so it would be better if your disciples named her."
I heard the system's voice in my head, but I ignored its advice and said, "Don't interrupt me, system. I'm trying to think of a name."
Focusing again, I looked at the cat. I saw her licking her own feet while sitting on my shoulder. Noticing my gaze, she looked at me, smiled, and meowed in a cute voice. Her smile was beautiful, like a flower blooming in spring. That decided her name for me. I picked her up and raised her above my head. Seeing me do this, both Lu Xiaoran and Roman stopped talking. Slowly, I spoke in a gentle voice.
Vik: "Disciples, today we welcome a new member to our family."
Just as I was about to announce her name, the system interrupted me.
System: "Host, you are not going to name her Simbha, right."
Vik: "Shut up, system! Can you just not interrupt me this once?"
After telling the system to be quiet, I focused on the moment again.
Vik: "Disciples, today we welcome a new member into our family."
Vik: "From now on, she will be a member of our family, and her name is Pushpa."
Meow!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both of my disciples cheered upon hearing my announcement. Even Pushpa meowed loudly, so I think she liked her name. Now that we had named her, I looked around and noticed it was late at night. The time on my system watch read 10 o'clock. I turned to my disciples.
Vik: "Disciples, it's late. You should go to sleep now. You can play with Pushpa tomorrow."
When they heard me, both nodded and walked toward the Anonymous Hall, heading straight to their dorm. I started walking toward the hall as well. Normally, I like to sleep on branches, but now that I have a human body and a cute pet, I decided I should sleep in a room. With that in mind, I entered the main hall and changed the layout to a simple room with a bed, table, chair, and some simple furniture. I also added a pet bed for Pushpa. She liked it and laid quietly on the pet bed.
Now that I sorted everything, I said to the system in my mind, "System, tell me what an Outer god entity is and how Pushpa is related to them."
System: "Host, an Outer god entity is one that has powers similar to a god, but they're not gods in the usual sense. They are far worse than any god. Any life form that encounters an Outer god never leaves to tell the tale. There's only one theory suggesting that an Outer god is born when too many life forms believe in someone or something. According to this theory, an Outer god is created from people's beliefs, so it doesn't need energy or a power system to grow stronger. They surpass the laws of countless realms. When a world encounters an Outer god, the laws of that world collapse, even if the Outer god does nothing."
Vik: "Okay, I understand them now. But how is Pushpa connected to them?"
System: "Host, I only had a suspicion earlier, but now I'm sure Pushpa is an Outer god. Remember when I tried to assess her status and failed, severing my connection to the main system? Now, mysteriously, I can see her status. Once you see Pushpa's status, you'll understand."
Vik: "Okay, System, show me Pushpa's status."
"Ding! Showing host's pet Pushpa's status."
