Chapter 581 - Chapter 315: Snorlax, the Speed-Maxed Juggernaut! (Part 2)

So this Snorlax with S-Class Speed is simply an anomaly among anomalies. Aside from its incredible Speed, its other five dimensions are also terrifying: three A's and two S's. Overall, having three S's in aptitude indicates Snorlax has the potential to advance to the Divine Domain Level.

Even among Ash's many talented Pokemon, this Snorlax ranks highly. If calculated based on innate talent from the beginning, only Charizard and Gardevoir's talents can match or surpass Snorlax.

Ash never imagined that coming to buy berries, he would encounter such a gifted Snorlax.

Though this Snorlax seems to have quite an appetite, Ash's resources are more than enough to support it. Moreover, there are specially crafted Energy Blocks that can instantly fill Snorlax's enormous belly.

These are specifically developed for Snorlax's use. Without such items, unless those trainers are top-tier wealthy like Ash, just a single meal would bankrupt them!

Before those Energy Blocks were developed, Snorlax, despite being a powerful and rare Pokemon, deterred people from attempting to capture it due to its terrifying appetite.

But now, with those Energy Blocks available, even a Big Eater Snorlax can be affordable for many. But then the question arises: now that the Energy Block is developed, where can one find a Snorlax?

Snorlax is extremely rare, its habitat unknown. It could appear in any region, any place, which also means it's quite hard to find.

Encountering a Snorlax with such amazing talent today makes Ash feel Togepi's lucky buff is at work. Not capturing it would indeed do a disservice to Togepi's luck!

"Pikachu, take the initiative, use Quick Attack!"

"Pika!!" Pikachu abruptly pushed off the ground, moving like a bolt of lightning. The staff nearby only caught a glimpse of a yellow blur flashing by before Pikachu fiercely collided with Snorlax's belly.

Surprisingly, Snorlax, who was lounging and gobbling down food, was knocked back several meters!

But Pikachu, due to the recoil from Snorlax's soft belly, was also instantly bounced away. It spun around in the air dizzily several times before barely stabilizing and stumbling back to the ground.

Why did the side that initiated the attack end up being bounced further back? How terrifying is this Snorlax's defensive power?

"Ash, doesn't Pikachu seem a bit off?" Misty asked in a low voice as she leaned close to Ash's ear, causing a tickle with her warm breath.

"No problem at all, Pikachu's in great shape; that Snorlax is just too strong," Ash replied without thinking.

"Is that really so?" Misty wondered out loud, gently tapping her chin with her finger, a hint of doubt on her face. She felt something was amiss but couldn't pinpoint exactly what.

Actually, Misty's intuition was spot on, which isn't surprising given her Gym Trainer expertise. She immediately spotted the anomaly in Pikachu, as shown on its current status screen.

[Species: Pikachu (Second Evolution)]

[Gender: Male]

[Attribute: Electric Type]

[Level: Gym Beginner Level]

[Ability: Static]

[Skills: Thunderbolt, Volt Tackle, Thunder, Electric Terrain...]

[Six-dimensional Ability: Physical Attack S(S) Special Attack S(S) Defense B–A(A) Special Defense B–A(A) Physical Strength A–S(S) Speed S(S)]

The six-dimensional abilities have increased from the initial three S's to four. Compared to the first evolution when it went from six A's to three A's and three S's, the second evolution's enhancement isn't actually that significant.

However, each increase of one S-level talent involves geometrically magnified difficulty. Never mind how much this talent boost helps a Pokemon; the endeavor to enhance it is extraordinarily challenging.

For ordinary Pokemon, forget advancing to S-level; even upgrading from a B to an A is akin to climbing a mountain.

Generally, a Pokemon's aptitude is mostly unchangeable. Only Ash's Pikachu possesses such extraordinary power to alter aptitude. At this rate, during the fourth evolution, Pikachu could achieve a six S-level aptitude.

As for the fifth evolution... Who knows what might happen?

The seasoned pros in the chat have mentioned the evolvement benefits vary across parallel worlds. In some, Pikachu only reaches all S-level during the sixth evolution, while others, like Ash's exceptionally gifted Pikachu, attain six S-level with just four evolutions.

Regarding what happens further, the experts who've reached this level are indicating Ash should explore on his own for maximum thrill.

Thus far, Ash doesn't yet know what surpasses the six S-level aptitude. That's still far down his path.

Since evolving to the second evolution, Pikachu's ability values have started stabilizing. Now only the twins and Physical Strength values still fluctuate, while others have already stabilized.

The stabilization of Pikachu's ability values is incredibly significant.

Before, as values fluctuated, no amount of level-up would lead to changes in Pikachu's ability values, unlike other Pokemon, whose values typically dropped by half a tier to a full tier with a level-up.

Fixed ability values mean even when Pikachu levels up, its ability values remain unchanged; it swiftly reaches the pinnacle of that level!

This saves considerable effort and time.

This time saving gives Pikachu a head start in level-ups over other Pokemon, which is why Pikachu, despite having its level reduced post-rebirth, bounced back swiftly in a short notice.

Now, this is Pikachu at its weakest, but Ash is confident that within a month, Pikachu will return to its original level.

But for now... Gym Beginner is just Gym Beginner, one Quick Attack isn't even enough to KO Snorlax under its soft fat.

Not to mention KO-ing; it probably didn't even breach much of Snorlax's defenses.

Although Snorlax is tough, Pikachu's power has also diminished.

"Snorlax!!" Regular attacks are usually disregarded by Snorlax, yet that recent hit agitated it enough to pull its attention from the berries to Pikachu, its docile face turning enraged.

Clearly, Pikachu interrupting Snorlax's meal had seriously displeased it!

"Snorlax, these Sitrus Berries were painstakingly cultivated by others. If you want to eat them, I'll let you have your fill when I capture you. But don't ruin someone else's produce now!" Ash exclaimed, trying to convince Snorlax with reason and emotion to abandon the Sitrus Berries.

Yet the starving Snorlax wouldn't hear any of it. It patted its massive belly, then charged forward!

"So fast!" Misty gasped as Snorlax already reached Pikachu's location and bore down heavily—a falling meteor strike!

"Dodge!"

"Pika!" Pikachu leaped backward, avoiding Snorlax's falling meteor strike. Snorlax's huge form crashed to the ground with a deafening roar, shaking the surrounding earth three times—a testament to Snorlax's terrifying weight.
