"Bet!"
Si-Hun laughed and started the bike.
Kuro raised his eyebrows hearing Si-Hun's unexpected laugh.
All these months, he had barely smiled, but things have started to change now, slowly, but each chuckle counts.
Si-Hun again put the bike at full speed and darted down the road.
The sky was filled with stars, each having its own unique spark.
The moon shone like it were the happiest today.
The field on the sides was blowing in the wind, each blade following its own rhythm.
Time was paced slowly and peacefully.
Si-Hun didn't miss any of the calm, just…lived through it.
And for Kuro, he was enjoying the bike ride at the peak.
His hair were blowing in the wind, and he looked mesmerised.
"Damn…this is just out of the world," Si-Hun whispered low under his breath.
It really was :)
It took him about half an hour to reach the ice-cream shop.
The shop was not that crowded and was peaceful.
Si-Hun smiled at the receptionist.
The staff knew him; he came here often.
"One large cookies and cream sundae!"
"Coming right up!"
"This place is so pretty."
"It is just what you need after a thrilling night ride on the bike."
"I wish I could eat ice cream too, but I can't eat anything because I'm a damn shadow!"
"Maybe we could ask Eravus."
"YESS!"
"Okay, okay! Calm down!" Si-Hun said.
"I'm exciteddddd!!!!"
The ice cream sundae came after a few minutes.
Si-Hun was really looking forward to having a peaceful treat, but who knew, blood would follow him even there…?
Before he even took a single bite of his ice cream, there was shouting everywhere.
"WHAT DAMN THING HAPPENED NOW!?"
The ice cream shop was starting to close, but Si-Hun insisted on getting out to see what had happened.
"S-sir! You can't go out! It's dangerous!"
"Just let me leave man!"
After a few protests, Si-Hun was free to go.
"Let's see who the f*ck disrupted my very needed comfort!"
Si-Hun said as his senses told him to go in the left direction.
Kuro followed behind.
"What could've happened?"
"It seems like…a monster has come outside an open portal."
Si-Hun went near to see, and it was just what he said.
"I knew it," Si-Hun said, frustration evident in his tone.
There were crowds of people and a monster.
"Hey! You step aside! No one is allowed to go here until the predator's team arrives.
"Tchh, just get aside!" Si-Hun said as he pushed the man sideways with his hand.
The man looked at Si-Hun, scared, but didn't do anything out of fear of getting in the sight of the vicious monster.
People were getting away from the monster's sight, some even daring to take videos.
Si-Hun looked at the crowd and wondered if he did anything, people would find his true identity, but right now, many people's lives were in danger, so he had to do something.
"Ah, I'll have to do it!" Si-Hun said.
But then, another thought came into his mind, and he stopped.
"If I do it here, people will die..." Saying this, he shouted
"Everyone! Step back!"
Everyone saw him coming towards the monsters and gasped.
The monster wasn't even a low-level monster; it was more dangerous, about C or D ranked.
A large beast with reddish-brown skin, with spots all over its body.
He seemed aggressive.
People started filming him, and everyone stepped back from the centre to get a clear view.
Si-Hun was standing alone, the crowd circling him.
No one knew why a random guy just came out of nowhere and dared to stand in front of a giant beast.
Si-Hun stopped in front of the monster and tilted his head a little.
The monster growled and struck his large hand to hit Si-Hun.
As he extended his hand, Si-Hun jumped on his arm and used his flash to get to his head.
The monster was confused about what had happened.
"Don't assume a victory too early; celebrating early can get you embarrassed in front of the crowd, you know?" Si-Hun said, a sly smirk playing on his lips.
The monster growled again, and this time his voice came out rougher.
Si-Hun didn't wait a second more and took out his pocket knife and climbed up to his ear, and cut it off.
Blood splashed like crazy and fell over the road, some drops also splashing on Si-Hun's clothes.
A kid in the crowd started crying seeing the scene, and his mom tried calming him down.
The monster groaned angrily and moved his head here and there, trying to find where Si-Hun had gone.
Si-Hun suddenly came in front of the monster and charged his energy for one powerful punch.
He punched the beast right in the chest.
His fist tore through the creature's ribs — the crack echoing louder than the screams.
"W-what is he?" Someone whispered to their friend.
Si-Hun teleported towards a dark corner where the cameras couldn't follow him.
"Where has that man gone?" Someone shouted from within the crowd.
"Can I use the skull crusher from here?"
"Yes, be quick!"
Si-Hun chanted the word "emit," and in seconds, the monster's skull was crushed like glass.
The scene was horrifying.
People froze.
By this time, there was one van of the predator's team and one news van.
Si-Hun saw them and furrowed his brows.
"My cover...I'm risking everything. Ughh! They're gonna know it's me!... But I can go to Threads of Memory to erase their memory of what had happened. Yes."
Everyone screamed and backed away.
Some people dropped their phones, and some ran away out of fear.
"Phew."
Si-Hun teleported from there to the ice cream shop, hidden from everyone's eyes.
Si-Hun came back into his physical form and knocked on the ice cream shop's door.
The staff looked at him, confused.
They opened the door, and Si-Hun told them that the fight had ended.
Everyone was relieved.
Si-Hun saw his ice cream sundae all melted.
He sighed and ordered a new one.
He took it and ate while sitting on the bike.
"Finally, I can get a bite. I would go to Threads of Memory and erase their memories."
Kuro was worried about hearing him.
"Master, this is dangerous!"
"I know, but I have to save my identity. Everyone knows me as the weak predator."
"Fine. It's your need right now."
Si-Hun finished his ice cream and put on his helmet.
He fled to Jae-Un's and returned the bike.
Si-Hun didn't waste any time and returned home.
After reaching his home, he went to his living room and sat on the couch.
The couch sank from his weight.
"I've got to do it, but it will surely leave everyone curious about who killed the monster."
"Leave that worry and be quick. Everyone must've shown the videos by now. But before that, check your new ability."
Si-Hun opened his stats and looked at the new ability.
"The reverser."
"You have been given the ability you need right now! Use it to reverse the action of the filming."
"Let's go…"
Si-Hun smirked and got up from the couch.
"I'm going…"
With that, Si-Hun once again entered Threads of Memory.
He was again taken there by the purple light that had guided him there the last time.
He was again in that large place with so many perspectives.
So many eyes.
On the other hand, the predators who were on the site were shocked that someone could use these abilities.
They had never seen such a fight where the predator could use such powers.
"Who is this man?" One of the predators said.
"He's fighting like he's done it a million times."
"He seems to be enjoying the fight. Chill."
There was chaos about the 'random guy who killed a monster who was like a lower C rank, alone.
Si-Hun was still in the Threads of Memory.
It took time and a high concentration, and control to do each task.
After some time, all the perspectives on the previous image of what had happened vanished and were replaced by emptiness.
Si-Hun finally came back.
Kuro was patiently waiting for him.
"I erased their memories."
"Thank God you were safe."
"It took a high level of control, on my mind and my body. I had to focus real hard."
In the area, a wave of forgetfulness filled the entire area, and whoever saw and knew what happened didn't remember why they were even there in the first place.
After that, Si-Hun quickly reversed the mobile phone video action, and the video was deleted from every device that captured it.
This ability was really powerful as well, so it could only be used once in 36 hours.
The chaos gradually faded, and everyone got back to their business.
Even though they questioned why there was a dead monster on the floor.
The police came soon and sealed the area.
The officers asked everyone about what had happened here, but no one knew what had taken place there.
"What is this whole thing? No one knows what happened here, even though they were right here."
"It's very strange. Let's check the CCTV cameras here."
"Go ahead."
The police officers took out the footage of the day, but found the same answer: nothing.
"We won't find anything here, and we can take in EVERYONE into question. What do we do now?"
"This is getting frustrating! Who the hell is this mysterious killer?"
