"It is far from here, so I might need to ask Jae-Un to borrow his bike."
"Whoa!! I'm all up for a bike ride!!"
"Wait, lemme text him."
"Yeah, yeah, just be quick, I can't wait."
"Have patience," Si-Hun said, chuckling.
"How can I be patient when for once in a lifetime you are taking me for something that actually pleases your neurons and my hunger for fun!?"
Si-Hun narrowed his eyes and looked at the screen.
"Bro, if you wouldn't mind, could you lend me your bike for a few hours?"
"I don't, but where are you going?"
Si-Hun thought about whether to tell him that he's going to buy a weapon.
"I am buying a new dagger. The shop here doesn't have cheaper ones, maybe somewhere away from the city sells cheaper ones."
"Ah, ok. You could come to my place, I'm not at home right now. You know where the keys are 😉"
"Thanks, bud."
"You called me bud after so LONG, I like it :) Anyway, you're welcome."
"😉" Si-Hun replied and put his phone back in his pocket.
"Let's go to Jae-Un's house."
"YOO!"
"Lesgo…" Si-Hun said, FINALLY smiling.
He loved biking too, but didn't have the money to buy a bike, obviously.
Jae-Un's house was not too far away, just a 15-minute walk from his apartment.
He reached his house and took the key, which was literally IN BETWEEN HIS DOG'S FOOD TRAY.
"What the heck?? Who puts a key inside THEIR DOG'S FOOD!?" Kuro said, completely weirded.
"What if the dog eats the key? He will poo that key!?"
"Stop having such a diabolical imagination! He keeps it there. He thinks it's the last place someone would find it, and honestly, it is. Haha."
'Damn. He's really crazy…"
Si-Hun took the keys and opened the main door.
His house was cozy but messy, matching him himself.
"Man, his house is so messy."
"You have a problem with him or something?" Si-Hun asked, side eyeing Kuro.
"Nah, but he's just so weird!"
"We could say that…"
Si-Hun took his bike keys while Kuro was watching a very old photo frame of a lady.
"Who's this lady in this?"
"It's…his late mom. He admires her very much."
"Oh,"
"Let's go now."
"Okay," Kuro said while looking at the photo.
"That lady…she seems familiar." Kuro muttered to himself.
They got out of the house, and Si-Hun again locked it and put the keys back where it was.
He patted Kira on the head.
Kira already knew who Si-Hun was, so he didn't bark at Si-Hun, but he was feeling some unusual energy.
"He can feel me," Kuro said.
Si-Hun looked at him and got up.
"He's observing."
"Come to the bike."
Kuro forgot everything and came quickly towards the heavy bike.
"You ready for a wild ride?" Si-Hun said, smirking while putting his helmet on.
"Yeahh!!"
Si-Hun smirked one more time and turned on the accelerator.
The bike started with the sound of the accelerator.
Si-Hun took the bike on the clear road to the weapon shop outside of the city.
It wasn't that far away, but enough to let him enjoy the ride.
It was 5 p.m.
A cold evening in winter.
The sun was setting, and the whole sky was painted orange with streaks of pink.
It was beautiful.
As soon as Si-Hun took the bike on the clear road, he grinned.
He was waiting to ride the bike at full speed.
"Now the real fun begins."
"What did you say, master?"
"Nothing, just enjoy the ride now."
Si-Hun titled the handle, and the speed gradually increased.
Si-Hun's hair were peeking out from under his helmet and blowing slightly in the wind.
The cold breeze hitting his skin and then slipping away instantly.
Damn…it was all so surreal.
Real fun for him after a hectic week.
Kuro waved his hands in the air, enjoying the bike ride.
"Hold on to me!" Si-Hun said.
"I'm a shadow! I won't be blown away by the wind!"
'But you're capable of losing balance!"
"Oh yeah…"
Kuro held onto Si-Hun, and they both descended through the sunset.
Si-Hun felt alive and enjoyed every second of the ride until he reached the weapons shop.
He stopped the bike in front of a vintage-looking store.
He took off his helmet and shook his head to remove the hair from his face.
A woman passing from the side gasped.
He grabbed the female's attention quickly.
Kuro stepped off the bike.
Si-Hun also got off the bike and entered the shop.
"Arthur!" Si-Hun said, waving at a middle-aged man who was standing across the counter.
"Does he know him?"
The man squinted his eyes, and then his face lit up.
'Si-Hun! Man, didn't expect to see you here at this day! How's it going?"
"Everything's fine. I moved out."
"You did good, man, honestly!"
"Yeah. The burden's off."
"Great to hear that. You've grown so much, and…handsome,"
"And you still haven't aged even after so many years!"
"Nah, I've aged! Look at the wrinkles!"
"You've still got that intimidating beauty and those blue eyes can capture any lady's heart!"
"Haha! Anyway, what brings you here?"
"I'm here for the same reason my father used to push me for. I'm looking for a heavy metal revolver."
"So you're continuing that training?"
"I'm a predator now, and I REALLY need a weapon. You know how unsafe this job is."
"My man's a killer now? Haha. Don't worry, I got ya!"
Si-Hun smiled and waited till Arthur got the revolver.
"Who is that, master? You're talking to him like you've known him for years."
"I have. I'll tell you later."
"I'm interested!"
Si-Hun smiled and leaned against the wall.
A few minutes later, Arthur came back with a shiny silver revolver with a brown leather cover draped around the magazine.
He put it on the table.
Si-Hun went to check it.
"Here. This is the perfect one for you. Light and easy to keep in the pocket of your leather jacket!"
"This looks intimidating…"
Si-Hun held it and rotated it to check the exterior.
The exterior was shiny but strong.
The metal was light and hard.
"I like it. How much?"
"Don't ask me that! This is the revolver I've kept with myself cause I knew you were gonna come back...one day."
"Arthur-
"No. You're like my brother. I don't charge family."
Si-Hun looked at Arthur and pressed his lips.
"You…helped me when no one did. You're still doing. I don't know, Arthur, how can I ever return the favors?"
"You don't need to return anything. Just be real. I waited 6 years to see you back. I kept it with me the whole time, still shiny as ever. Since the day I saw you looking at it, the day you came with your father."
"You…remember that?"
"How can I forget that, man?" Arthur laughed, low.
"Arthur…"
"Yes?"
"Give me a hug man!"
Si-Hun hugged Arthur tightly.
Arthur patted his back and pulled back.
"You're a strong man. Stay strong. I knew you were a determined spirit!"
"I was weak."
"Don't ever say that again!"
Si-Hun laughed and said.
"I won't."
Si-Hun looked at his watch.
It had been 2 hours.
He had to return the bike.
"Arthur, I have to go. I'll come back again, but it'll not take 6 years again!"
"I'll be waiting, young man! Come back even stronger!"
Si-Hun chuckled and waved Arthur goodbye.
Arthur returned his goodbye and waved back.
Si-Hun put his helmet back on, and Kuro sat behind him.
"You mind telling me?"
"Haha, I'll tell you everything while we get ice cream!"
