"Kairen, heading to the Academy? Are you ready?"
At the gates of the clan compound, familiar faces greeted him warmly.
Uchiha Kairen nodded slightly.
"Do your best, Kairen! Don't shame the pride of the Uchiha Clan!"
"Yeah! Come back victorious and Uncle will treat you to some barbecue!"
Kairen smiled, returning the greetings politely. Inwardly, though, he thought to himself, If the Uchiha treated the rest of Konoha the same way they treat their own clansmen, maybe we wouldn't end up wiped out someday.
He took a deep breath and quickened his steps toward the examination grounds.
In truth, Uchiha Kairen was a transmigrator.
No truck accident, no fatal illness — just an ordinary office worker, a single man who somehow woke up one day in the world of Naruto.
When he first realized he'd been reborn into the Uchiha Clan, one of the most tragic families in shinobi history, his mental state nearly collapsed.
But when he learned that he was born just after the Second Great Ninja War — decades before the clan's annihilation — his mood improved considerably.
At least I wasn't dropped straight into the massacre… or turned into Sasuke 2.0.
At the very least, he had a warm home now.
His father, Uchiha Yasuyuki, was the younger brother of Uchiha Nobunaga, the current clan head. His uncle's son was Uchiha Fugaku — yes, that Fugaku.
Not a bad start for a guy who just "soul-traveled" into the Uchiha family.
Seven years flew by.
Kairen had spent two full years at the Ninja Academy, always ranking at the top. With an adult's mind inside a child's body, he really couldn't stand living like an elementary schooler anymore.
This life, he vowed, he would change the Uchiha's fate.
"Uchiha Kairen, begin the exam!"
The examiner's voice rang out.
Kairen instantly flicked three kunai forward in a triangular spread, then followed up with six shuriken connected by thin steel wires, spiraling toward the examiner.
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu!"
Flames erupted from his mouth, surging toward the examiner's blind spot.
The examiner deftly dodged the kunai, deflected the shuriken, and countered with a Earth Release: Earth Wall to block the fireball.
He smirked slightly. These Uchiha brats sure like to show off.
But Kairen tugged at the hidden wires — the rebounding shuriken suddenly whipped around, flying straight at the examiner's back!
Thud!
The shuriken struck — and the examiner burst into smoke. A Substitution Technique!
A chill touched Kairen's neck — the examiner had reappeared beside him, kunai poised at his throat.
"Earth Release: Headhunter Jutsu!"
At the instant of impact earlier, Kairen had already created a clone and hidden underground. The "Kairen" standing there turned back into a log.
"Water Release: Water Prison Jutsu!"
In an instant, Kairen found himself trapped inside a shimmering sphere of water.
"Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Jutsu!"
But as it turned out, while using his clone and transformation, Kairen had swapped places with a shuriken on the ground — when the examiner counterattacked, the real Kairen unleashed fire from behind!
"Water Release: Water Formation Wall! The exam is over. Uchiha Kairen passes."
The battle ended with Jiraiya's voice echoing from the sideline.
"Thank you, Jiraiya-sama," the examiner said respectfully.
"Impressive! As expected of the Uchiha's young genius."
"Wow, that Uchiha kid is really strong."
"Are kids these days all this powerful?" The spectators murmured in awe.
"You've got talent, Uchiha boy. Report to the Hokage's office tomorrow," Jiraiya said before vanishing in a blur of Body Flicker.
Kairen exhaled deeply. That had taken everything he had.
Surrounded by his cheering clansmen, he started walking toward the Police Force headquarters.
---
"You did well, son! You've upheld the pride of our clan! Never forget — we are the strongest, the Uchiha will always stand proud!"
A handsome man in a jōnin vest smiled at him — Uchiha Yasuyuki, his talkative father.
"Your mother's already made lunch. We'll eat together at home. You're a genin now — time to act like a man."
"When I was your age, I was still stuck in the clan's training school! But don't get cocky. The Uchiha have no shortage of geniuses — remember, it's the Sharingan that defines us. That's our true foundation!"
"Tonight, your uncle and I are throwing a small celebration for you — Konoha's youngest genin!"
Kairen sometimes wondered if every stoic, cold Uchiha had a chatterbox for a father.
"By the way, Kairen — have you decided yet?" Yasuyuki asked suddenly.
"About what?"
"Whether you'll join the Police Force or a regular mission squad."
"I think I should ask Uncle first," Kairen replied.
"This might not be a simple choice."
"Ha! Don't worry about him. Whatever you choose, I'll support you! You've got me — nothing will go wrong. Now hurry home; don't keep your mother waiting."
He patted Kairen's head affectionately.
The walk home was filled with laughter and tall tales from Yasuyuki and other clan members, making Kairen feel both proud and embarrassed — as if people were looking at the reincarnation of Madara.
"Welcome back, Kairen. Congratulations on becoming a ninja!"
A gentle woman embraced him tightly.
In a whisper, she said, "Promise me, always be careful. Never show mercy to your enemies. Kindness can become the kunai that pierces your own heart. Always stay alert — always."
A glimmer of red flickered in her eyes — three tomoe Sharingan, glistening like rubies in the sunlight.
"Let's not talk about such things today," Yasuyuki interjected softly. "Today is a happy day."
This was Kairen's family — a warm, talkative father and a gentle but strong mother.
And in his heart, Kairen swore silently — no one will ever take this away from me. No one.
That night, his uncle's family and his aunt's family came over to celebrate.
His cousin, Uchiha Fugaku, the ever-serious one, sat stiffly, while his playful cousin Uchiha Rei teased everyone. Indeed — the Uchiha clan's signature traits seemed to be cold pride and comedic contrast.
"Kairen," said his uncle Uchiha Nobunaga, "your father mentioned your future plans. I'd like to hear your decision."
"I've decided to join the Military Police Force, Uncle — to serve Konoha and protect the village in my own way."
"Good. Report tomorrow afternoon."
Nobunaga left satisfied.
After the guests had gone, Yasuyuki sat drinking silently.
"Why not join a mission squad? I already arranged it. You've always been clever, level-headed… Can't you see how things are changing? Haven't you felt how the villagers look at us?"
"That's enough," his wife said. "At least he'll be safe in the Police Force. Surrounded by our kin, he'll be fine. Better than risking betrayal from outsiders!"
"Dad, Mom," Kairen said quietly, "I've made my decision. Please respect it."
He turned and left for his room.
Lying down, he thought: Dad's too kind… too naïve. He still thinks that joining mission teams will help the Uchiha integrate, earn the higher-ups' trust. But even if we all bow our heads, nothing will change.
Only unity — and absolute power — can protect the clan.
Konoha… see you tomorrow.

"Third Hokage-sama, Uchiha Kairen reporting."
Before him sat Sarutobi Hiruzen, still in his prime — kindly smile masking an aura of overwhelming authority.
"Oh, it's you, Kairen. So? Military Police Force or regular squad?"
"I wish to serve in the Military Police Force, Hokage-sama. To protect the peace of the village and fulfill my duty as a Konoha shinobi."
Hiruzen nodded slowly. "Good. The Police Force has always been the pride of the Uchiha. But remember — wherever you serve, you are first and foremost a part of Konoha."
"The Will of Fire — where the leaves dance, the fire burns bright. That fire will illuminate the village, and from the embers, new leaves will grow again."
"Yes, Third Hokage-sama!" Kairen saluted and left.
As he walked out, Hiruzen exhaled a puff of smoke. "Owl, summon Elder Danzō."
An ANBU appeared — and vanished.
Out on the street, Kairen watched people bustle by, deep in thought.
Hiruzen… he's not the benevolent old man from the anime.
The Second Hokage wouldn't have chosen him if he were that soft.
He's a master of politics — cautious, calculating, protecting his own power. Danzō? Just a scapegoat who thought he was a rival. A man dreaming of Hokagehood while wasting Izanagi as a get-out-of-jail-free card.
The others? Puppets, playing out Hiruzen's script while he posed as the righteous hero.
A true strategist hides his hand even while pulling every string.
Kairen sighed inwardly. No more relying on "knowing the plot." If I'm going to survive here, I'll need to think like a shinobi — not a viewer.
Especially when dealing with our "kindly old grandpa," the great Third Hokage.
"Yo, Kairen! Reporting for duty, huh? This is my boy — the youngest genin in Konoha! Don't let the baby face fool you, he's been training since he could walk! We'll celebrate with ramen later, yeah?"
Kairen smiled helplessly. His father, the eternal chatterbox. Whatever… one step at a time.
"This is your squad captain, Uchiha Ankoku," said Uchiha Nobunaga. "He's an elite jōnin with three-tomoe Sharingan, master of kenjutsu, fire, lightning, and genjutsu. Your two teammates are Uchiha Retsu, the Elder's grandson, and Uchiha Honō, the Third Elder's direct heir. You'll focus on patrol and training — your assigned area is the Food Street. Ankoku, take him to meet his team."
"Follow me," Ankoku said curtly, disappearing in a blur.
At the clan training grounds, two young boys whispered to each other — Retsu and Honō, his new teammates.
Ankoku clapped his hands. "Introduce yourselves. We'll be working together, so it's best to know each other."
"I'm Uchiha Ankoku, elite jōnin with three-tomoe Sharingan. I specialize in kenjutsu, fire release, lightning release, and genjutsu. I collect famous blades and study swordsmanship. I hate losing to women. My dream is to become the world's greatest swordsman."
Kairen blinked. Wait, are you from the One Piece crew? Are you… Zoro?
"I'm Uchiha Honō, genin. Haven't awakened my Sharingan yet. I specialize in fire and earth release. I love food — especially cooking it. I hate wasting ingredients. My dream is to become strong enough to eat every dish in the world."
Great. Now we have Sanji.
"I'm Uchiha Retsu, genin. Haven't awakened my Sharingan either. I use lightning and earth release. I like sleeping. I hate troublesome things. My dream is to live a peaceful life."
Dude, are you from the Nara clan? Shikamaru, did you transmigrate too?
Kairen laughed softly. "I'm Uchiha Kairen, genin. No Sharingan yet. I specialize in fire, wind, lightning, and one earth release jutsu. I like training. I hate anyone who hurts my family. My dream is to become strong enough to protect them."
Ankoku nodded approvingly. "Excellent. From today, the Third Division, 10th Squad of the Konoha Military Police Force is officially formed! Now — let's go eat barbecue! Because starting tomorrow, you'll be begging for mercy during training, hahaha! Enjoy your last day of peace!"
And just like that…
Kairen's career as a Konoha "City Patrol Officer" had begun.
