Staring at his back, I walked around and stood in front of him. He slowly looked at me.
"I don't think I have any choice, Thomas," I closed my eyes and sighed. I moved closer and hugged him tight. I could hear his heart beating fast, his whole body even tense.
"Stay," I whispered.
Everything became still, as if the world had paused. I didn't know his expression and I was scared to look. I used to think I had no weakness until now… but his tears? His tears are my weakness.
Seeing him hurt… I hate it.
"I'm afraid to love again. Everyone has their own sad past. My ex even hit me. I couldn't leave because I didn't know how to hate him. He took advantage of my loving him and started cheating. Then he would apologise, I would forgive him, until the day he did it right under my nose. It took me seven years to get over him… I'm sorry for what you went through because of me."
I sighed and pulled away. I avoided his gaze on purpose. "I'll be outside," I said and turned to leave.
