Upon hearing Youyu's request, Yusei was slightly surprised, but he didn't ask further and stood up to give up his D-Wheel.
The two exchanged D-Wheels. Youyu sat in the driver's seat of the D-Wheel and, with Yusei's help, adjusted the seat to fit his body, then activated the D-Wheel and accelerated to the side of the Red Baron.
"Duel!" x2
The moment roared loudly, a black horse neighed softly. The rides of steel and undead shot out like arrows, racing across the boundless desert.
Yusei also activated the D-Wheel he had switched to and accelerated to catch up.
[Youyu, LP 4000]
[Vampire Red Baron, LP 4000]
"Then I'll start, draw a card."
The future D-Wheel's performance was indeed impressive, and Youyu could hear the light and pleasant hum of the moment as it operated, filling this red D-Wheel beneath him with endless horsepower.
He had never felt this way before, with a high concentration of numerous Yusei Particles swirling around him. Now he felt he could easily reach a completely new realm, one that had been completely out of reach for him and the entire era until now, but was now within grasp.
Like a door to a new world slowly opening.
Since there were no restrictions from "Speed World," this Riding Duel could naturally use magic.
"Activate the Magic Card 'Shien's Smoke Signal' from my hand." A Magic Card beside Youyu flipped open, "Add a 'Six Samurai' monster of Level 3 or below from the Deck to my hand.
I add the Level 3 'Legendary Six Samurai - Kageki' from the Deck to my hand."
After briefly displaying it, he immediately slapped the card down.
"'Legendary Six Samurai - Kageki', Normal Summon."
The Six Samurai warrior leapt from the high-speed gale, wielding a long blade in each hand, and two mechanical arms behind it held additional blades.
[Legendary Six Samurai - Kageki, Defense 2000]
"Kageki's effect, upon successful summoning, Special Summon a 'Six Samurai' monster of Level 4 or below from the hand."
Youyu waved his hand grandly.
"Level 2, Tuner Monster 'Kagemusha of the Six Samurai', Special Summon."
[Kagemusha of the Six Samurai, Defense 1800]
"Tuner Monster... so that's how it is." Yusei realized, "Mr. Youyu also wants to attempt a Synchro Summon..."
Youyu took a deep breath and stepped on the accelerator.
He heard the engine rev higher while also sensing more Yusei Particles being unleashed, excitedly coursing through the air, resonating with the Shadow Warrior as a "Tuner Monster."
They could hardly wait.
"Level 2 'Kagemusha of the Six Samurai'," Youyu raised his arm, "Level 3, 'Legendary Six Samurai - Kageki', Tuning!"
The blade in the Shadow Warrior's hand swept across as its body, enveloped by Yusei Particles, became transparent and quickly disintegrated into two green rings. The rings surrounded Kageki's body in parallel, which then rapidly disintegrated into three starlights, lining up in a column and streaking towards the sky.
"The gathered starlights call the unyielding soul of the warrior, awaken in the high-speed storm! Synchro Summon—
—Level 5, Legendary Six Samurai - Shien!!!"
The concentration of Yusei Particles reached its peak, as if an invisible membrane had been pierced! A thin blade slashed through the starlight like cutting through a waterfall, and the crimson-armored general soared out, following at high speed alongside the D-Wheel, sparks flying as the sword in his hand dragged along the ground.
[Legendary Six Samurai - Shien, Attack 2500]
Shien: I've finally come online after being offline for so long, donning a new guise...
Youyu's success was unsurprising.
With the speeding D-Wheel, high concentration of Yusei Particles, and everything ready, there was no reason to fail at the Synchro Summon now.
"As expected of Mr. Youyu." Yusei was full of admiration, "To master the 'Synchro Summon' so quickly..."
After all, he couldn't have known that Youyu already had a Synchro Monster but couldn't complete the Synchro Summon due to the times, so it just sat collecting dust in the warehouse.
From Yusei's perspective, he figured Youyu's Synchro Monster must be just like his "Shooting Star Dragon"—created on the spot with enough strength.
That was proof of the strong one's capability!
This idea was indeed logical. After all, in this era, there was no Moment, no Yusei Particles, and naturally, no Synchro Monsters.
Yet Youyu could summon it effortlessly, casually summoning a pure white monster, who wouldn't believe it was created on the spot?
"Set a card, turn end."
A Set Card appeared beside the speeding D-Wheel, briefly flickering before turning transparent and disappearing at high speed.
On the horse up front, the Vampire witnessed the entire process of the "Synchro Summon" and showed a momentary look of shock on his deathly face.
Perhaps it was because Youyu's maneuver involved his knowledge blind spot, or maybe he started doubting whether this kind of operation was legitimate, possibly a cheat.
But maybe to avoid looking uninformed, he didn't ask more in the end.
"Then it's my turn."
The Red Baron spurred his horse, trailing behind Youyu's D-Wheel, white sand flying from the horse's hooves.
"Magic Card 'Pot of Greed'," the Vampire seemed to choose to play the Pot first to suppress the shock, "Draw two cards from the Deck."
"Then the effect of 'Legendary Six Samurai - Shien'." Youyu waved his hand grandly, "Once per turn, can negate the activation of a Magic or Trap Card and destroy it.
Negate the activation of 'Pot of Greed'."
The green pot with a grinning maw had just appeared when Shien swung his sword in an air-cutting slash, slicing the pot into four pieces.
"That Synchro Monster, is it an interference effect that negates?" Yusei murmured, "Mr. Youyu's first Synchro Monster is so strong..."
"Then activate 'Foolish Burial'." The Red Baron said, "Send a Monster Card from the Deck to the Graveyard. I send 'Vampire's Familiar' from the Deck to the Graveyard."
The card was ejected from the Deck, and he drew it out to the Grave, he continued immediately, "Then 'Vampire's Familiar' activates its effect from the Grave.
Send a 'Vampire' card from the hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon itself.
Send 'Vampire Retainer' from the hand to the Graveyard, and Special Summon the Familiar from the Grave!
A small black bat flapped its wings onto the field, its mouth open, revealing red like blood.
[Vampire's Familiar, Attack 500]
"Familiar's effect, upon successful Special Summon, pay 500 Life Points to add a 'Vampire' monster card from the Deck to the hand."
[Vampire Red Baron, LP 4000 → LP 3500]
A new card ejected, drawn into the Baron's hand.
He paused, his voice lowering several degrees, slowly revealing the card he added to his hand.
"I add myself... 'Vampire Red Baron', to my hand."
I search for myself!
