SELIN'S POV.

My hands trembled as I lifted the lid of the first box. Inside lay a gown—deep emerald velvet, the exact shade of a forest in moonlight. Delicate embroidery shimmered at the sleeves…like leaves moving in the wind. It looked expensive enough to buy ten villages.

A thin breath escaped me. "This isn't mine."

"There are two more," Lyria said quietly.

The second held a dress of soft silver silk, light as water. The third—blood-red satin, fierce and breathtaking. Every gown was my size. Every gown looked chosen…not random.

Lyria unwrapped the silk bundles next, jewelry. Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, all handcrafted to match the gowns.

My throat felt tight. "Why would he—"

"He didn't say," she interrupted too quickly. "He only said you must wear them."

"I wasn't planning to attend any events," I snapped, though my voice trembled, not sharp. "I'm not part of this world. I'm not his anything. I'm just—"
